Hello guys, this is my first time to share a story in this community. I've been thinking for about one week now if I am going to share the story of my son's pet, an unusual pet for me since I don't know lots of stories of chicken being a pet.
The story of my son's pet started when he spotted a man selling days old chicks in various colors for about half a dollar.
He asked me to buy one and I did. But then I realized that the chick needs food so I went to a poultry shop asked the attendant to sell me food for days old chick (I bought one kilo).
There's also something that I noticed about the chick. Most of the chick that I came to know will run away as fast as they could when humans try to get close to them, but this one is an exception.
The chick doesn't go astray, if I put the chick in one place it will not go as far as two meters.
First Photos
Do I look tough?
Yeah! I look tough
The Following Day
Just like I said earlier, the chick does not go astray as far as two meters. At first, I was cautious because it might run away so I am not taking my eyes off the chick while it is taking small walks.
Let me just take some walk
I'm not going anywhere, I'm just taking some chick walks
Eh, is this my shadow?
Another Day
It's a weekend, I noticed that my son is lying on the floor just looking at the chick taking some chick walks while chirping, and then it started to jump on my son's back It did some jumps but was not able to go on top of my son's back so I took him on top.
How am I suppose to go down now?
I'm just going to sit here then
Taking Him Outside Again
I took him again outside, I waited if he's going astray or run away, but he didn't. I can now confirm that he is not startled by humans at all.

He's Starting to Get Bigger
Few more days I noticed that the chick started to get bigger and fluppy. He's still well behaved and does not go astray whenever I put him outside early in the morning so that he could get some sunlight.
He's getting bigger
Growing Fast
After a few more days he is now significantly bigger than we bought him. He's now doubled his size, just look at him in the photo below. He's still very well-behaved he's just sitting on top of my son's lap.
I Lost Count of the Days
I don't know how old he is in these next photos because I lost count of the of days when we bought him. I just noticed that he is growing very fast.
And while outside passersby are smiling whenever they see him just lounging on the floor.
Hi welcome 😊!
Great idea to post your pet chicken.
What is the name of the chicken? It needs a name lol 😁.
When I was young we rescued an injured chicken as well, her name was Henriette. I may find some old pics of her. Hopefully your chicken lives a long happy life with the love of your son ❤️🐓.
Keep posting 👍
Thank you.
We call him "Fluppy" since he's so fluppy. (^_^)
