Love has no race. Although we have been taught that cats and dogs hate each other, this is not always the case.
It is impressive how animals manage to live together even when their nature prevents them from doing so. They manage to have a good love. It is an example for human beings that every day lose perspective and do not achieve a healthy coexistence. Hopefully someday we will reach a common goal, and we can live together happily as dogs and cats.
This is the case of Duquesa and Marie. They are happy and have each other for protection.
Duquesa is a brindle boxer. She was born on February 24, 2010; she is going to be 11 years old. She has lost her sight and has a tumor in her breasts. The vet recommended not to operate on her because she will not last as she is too old.
My sister Dorys loves Duquesa and has had her since she was a puppy. She does not move away from her, she has to clear a path for her so she doesn't trip and fall.
El amor no tiene razas. A pesar de que nos han inculcado que los gatos y los perros se odian, esto no siempre es así.
Es impresionante como los animales logran convivir juntos aun cuando su naturaleza se los impide. Logran tener un amor del bueno. Es un ejemplo para los seres humanos que cada día pierden la perspectiva y no logran una sana convivencia. Ojalá y algún día logremos alcanzar un fin común, y podamos convivir felices como perros y gatos.
Este es el caso de Duquesa y Marie. Ellas son felices y se tienen una a la otra para protegerse.
Duquesa es un bóxer atigrado. Nació el 24 de febrero del año 2010, va a cumplir 11años de edad. Ha perdido la vista y tiene un tumor en las mamas. El veterinario recomendó que no la operen ya que no va a aguantar porque está muy viejita.
Mi hermana Dorys ama a Duquesa y la tiene desde que es un cachorrito. No se aleja de ella, tiene que abrirle camino para que no tropiece y se caiga.

Marie is four months old, and only one month at my sister Dorys' house. She eats dog food and likes to nap on top of Duquesa. From the moment she arrived, a love between them arose. They eat together and do not separate.
Marie tiene cuatro meses, y solo un mes en casa de mi hermana Dorys. Come perrarina y hace su siesta encima de Duquesa. Desde que llegó surgió un amor entre ellas. Comen juntas y no se separan.

When I asked Dorys about her great love for animals, she replied as follows:
"I have always thought that people who have not had the joy of having pets, especially dogs and cats, a small part of their heart is left waiting to be activated from deep within them. The love that these beings created by God can give you is indescribable. When you connect with them, you come to know that true love exists. No selfishness, no waiting, no rush, no ambition, no mediocrity. You just have to feel it. I have always loved animals, but dogs and cats drive me crazy.
My friends Carmen and Monica had no idea of the incredible happiness that my face would reflect when they gave me the beautiful Marie.
If I was happy before, I am much happier now. I see her pretty blue eyes and that cute little face and my heart just cringes with emotion. And my beautiful Duchess is one of the most spectacular things that has come into my life. A little more and she speaks. I assume and accept that I spoil them sometimes, but I enjoy it.
Tom is a beautiful specimen who moved into my home since his owner went on a trip. The three of them have made a good team, even though Tom sometimes gets on my nerves with Duchess.
Cuando le pregunté a Dorys por su gran amor hacia los animales, me contestó lo siguiente:
“Siempre he pensado que las personas que no han tenido la dicha de tener mascotas, en especial perros y gatos, una pequeña parte de su corazón queda a la espera de ser activado desde lo más profundo de su ser. El amor que te otorgan estos seres creados por Dios es indescriptible. Cuando logras conectarte con ellos, llegas a conocer que el verdadero amor existe. Sin egoísmo, sin espera, sin apuro, sin ambiciones, sin mediocridad. Solo hay que sentirlo. A mí toda la vida me han encantado los animales, pero los perros y gatos me vuelven loca.
Mis amigas Carmen y Monica no tenían ni idea de la increíble felicidad que iba a reflejar mi rostro cuando me entregaron a la bella Marie.
Si antes era feliz, ahora soy mucho más. Veo sus lindos ojos azules y esa carita tan tierna y el corazón se me encoge de la emoción. Y mi bella Duquesa es una de las cosas más espectaculares que ha llegado a mi vida. Un poco más y habla. Asumo y acepto que a veces los malcrío, pero lo disfruto.
Tom es un bello ejemplar que se mudó a mi casa desde que su dueña se fue de viaje. Ellos tres han hecho un buen equipo, aunque Tom a veces me cela con Duquesa.

Una hermosa historia del amor màs lindo, querida hermana. Ese amor por las mascotas y de ellos hacia nosotros, es un amor de pureza que no se compara a ningùn otro.
