Hola a todos, nuevamente feliz de estar participando en el concurso semanal propuesto por @OCD en conjunto con la comunidad @HivePets sobre un tema que encanta , los animales.
Since childhood in my family we have always had pets including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and even goats. So when I got married I told myself that when I could I would adopt a puppy or kitten but as time went by I put the idea aside, firstly because I live in a small apartment and secondly that with the arrival of the children the priorities change, although that desire always was.
Desde niña en mi familia siempre hemos tenido mascotas entre ellos, perros, gatos, conejos, pájaros y hasta chivos. Así que cuando me casé me dije que cuando pudiera adoptaría a un perrito o gatito pero con el pasar del tiempo la idea la dejé a un lado, primero porque vivo en un apartamento pequeño y segundo que con la llegada de los hijos las prioridades cambian, aunque ese deseo siempre estaba.
So when my children grew up and asked me to have a pet, especially my eldest son Andrés who was the most insistent for years, we decided to adopt a cat that has been with the family for almost 4 years and since then we have added three more cats and one little dog
Así que cuando mis hijos crecieron y me pedían tener una mascota, sobretodo mi hijo mayor Andrés que era el más insistente desde hacía años, decidimos adoptar a una gata que tiene con la familia casi 4 años y desde entonces hemos sumado tres gatos más y una perrita.
Today I am going to tell you about the smallest of our Rayita house. Rayita's mother lived around our building and we gave her food every time we saw her, she was very surly and she wouldn't let us touch her one day we stopped seeing her and when she reappeared there was a small kitten of many colors with her that we assumed that it was his son.
Hoy voy a contarles de la más chiquita de nuestra casa Rayita. La mamá de Rayita vivía por los alrededores de nuestro edificio y le dábamos comida cada vez que la veíamos, era muy arisca y no nos dejaba tocarla un día dejamos de verla y cuando volvió aparecer estaba con ella un gatito pequeño de muchos colores que supusimos que era su hijo.
A few days later we noticed that Úrsula, that's what we called the cat was sick, we gave her food, water and she didn't feel like anything, we tried in many ways to catch her for a vet to examine her but each attempt was unsuccessful, we didn't know what had happened to her that she was in such a precarious condition.
A los días nos percatamos que Úrsula, así llamabamos a la gata estaba enferma, le dábamos comida, agua y nada le apetecía, tratamos de muchas maneras atraparla para que la examinara un veterinario pero cada intento era fallido no sabíamos que le había podido pasar para que estuviera en esa condición tan precaria.
One day Úrsula did not appear anymore, we searched everywhere in the hope of finding her but it was all in vain, we did not know anything about her.
Un día Úrsula no apareció más buscamos por todas partes con la esperanza de encontrarla pero todo fue en vano no supimos nada de ella.
So we took care of her son, it caused us great sadness to see that this little kitten was orphaned and we made it our goal to find him a foster home that would give him all the love that his mother Úrsula did not have. We began to take many photos and show it to anyone who might want to have a cat but no one was interested, meanwhile the cat trusted us and did not run away when we fed him, the whole family had become fond of him so we decided to give him a home.
Así que nos ocupamos de su hijo, nos causaba mucha tristeza ver que quedara huérfano este gatito tan pequeño y nos pusimos como meta buscarle un hogar adoptivo que le brindara todo el amor que no tuvo su mamá Úrsula. Empezamos a tomar muchas fotos y mostrársela a toda persona que pudiera querer tener un gato pero nadie se interesaba, mientras tanto ya el gato nos tenía confianza y no huía cuando lo alimentábamos, toda la familia se había encariñado con él así que decidimos nosotros darle un hogar.

We knew she was female when my son examined her, so we decided to name her Rayita because since she was little, many stripes of different colors were seen on her body and we thought that a better name to describe her than that.
Supimos que era hembra cuando mi hijo la examino así que decidimos ponerle como nombre Rayita porque desde pequeña se le veía en su cuerpo muchas rayas de diferentes colores y nos pareció que mejor nombre para describirla que ese.
Rayita is very affectionate and the most spoiled for being the smallest of our cats. What Rayita likes to do the most is eat, I always have to scold her because she eats the other cats' food if I am not aware, if she continues to eat like this she will roll and not walk. She cannot hear that I feed one of the other cats when she is already there for her to feed him too, she is very gluttonous.
Rayita es muy cariñosa y la más consentida por ser la más pequeña de nuestros gatos. Lo que más le gusta hacer a Rayita es comer, siempre tengo regañarle porque se come la comida de los demás gatos si no estoy pendiente, si sigue comiendo así va a rodar y no caminar. No puede escuchar que alimento a uno de los otros gatos cuando ya ella está allí para que también le dé, es muy glotona.
I have noticed that what Rayita likes to eat the most is cat food that we give her three times a day, she has a schedule to eat that we try to comply with but there are also occasions that we give her ground meat, chicken or mortadella.
Me he percatado que lo que más le gusta comer a Rayita es comida de gatos que le damos tres veces al día ella tiene un horario para comer que tratamos de cumplir pero también hay ocaciones que le damos carne molida, pollo o mortadela.

Rayita is my little daughter Andrea's favorite cat, so much so that she says that when she gets married, she will take her home, which makes her father and me laugh. My daughter plays a lot with Rayita, one of her favorite games is a ball that she likes to chase and a rope that she chases when Andrea moves it, it is very fun to watch them play.
Rayita es la gata preferida de mi hija pequeña Andrea tanto es así que ella dice que cuando se case, se la va a llevar a su casa, cosa que nos hace reír a su papá y a mí. Mi hija juega mucho con Rayita, uno de sus juegos preferidos es una pelota que le gusta perseguir y una cuerda que persigue cuando Andrea la mueve, es muy divertido verlas jugar.
Another thing Rayita likes to do is sleep in her favorite place: a basket we have in the living room.
Otra cosa que le gusta hacer a Rayita es dormir en su lugar favorito: una cesta que tenemos en la sala.
It is really very gratifying to help animals in street conditions so if you can do it, do it, you will not regret it since these animals will thank you by giving you a lot of love.
Realmente es muy gratificante ayudar a los animales en condición de calle así que si tu puedes hacerlo hazlo no te arrepentirás ya que estos animales te lo van agradecer dándote mucho amor.
