But that's a good option. Some careless birds just throw chicks or take bad care of them.
There are usually two chicks in a pigeon's nest. And you may notice that one of them is larger than the other. This is because the stronger and more active gets more food from the parents. If I find a nest, I always start to make sure that both chicks are fed, otherwise one of them may die.
