Covid friendship

Friends,

Yesterday was a day of tension.

As I told you earlier, one of my friends, Manoj’s wife was admitted to a hospital due to COVID.

She is now in ventilation and fighting for her life.

Manoj’s mother was also admitted to a hospital due to the COVID complication. She was also in critical condition. She could not have survived and succumbed to COVID last Sunday.

Manoj was under tremendous pressure. Though his report of COVID was negative, due to this turmoil his physical and mental health is also not in his favor.

He requested all of us to help him financially and physically.

All of us tried to help him. The friends staying in Bengal, outside Bengal, and abroad send the financial support.

Now we have accumulated an amount and deposited it in the hospital where his wife is admitted.

Yesterday around three-thirty in the afternoon Manoj called me. He was breathing heavily and said he could not able to breathe properly.

He said his oxygen saturation level has gone down to eighty-four and he was suffocating.

I asked him for any other complication and he said no other complication and he had given for the second COVID test and the result is due.

He requested to arrange to admit him to any hospital as he was alone now at the house.

Now the availability of bed and oxygen is in scarcity and I tried to contact my other friends for any source of those.
We started to find out the availability of a hospital bed for him over the phone and also tried for Government help.

The authority said that they are trying for a bed and meanwhile if we could arrange something in any private hospital we must admit him.

After two hours one bed was arranged in a small nursing home in one condition that if the COVID report is positive they would discharge the patient immediately.

Manoj got admitted to that nursing home.

Immediate after some time the Government Authority called me and said that she could arrange a bed in one Government Medical College and advised me to admit him immediately.

I informed Manoj about the proceeding and he discharged himself from the nursing home and got admission to the Government Medical College.

He got oxygen and other support in the hospital bed yesterday night as per the information I have received.

We have thanked the Authority for her enormous support at the time of danger and waiting for todays’ proceeding.

Meanwhile, again I will request all of you to use Mask, Sanitiser/soap, and keep social distancing. Also will request you not go out of your house unless any emergency requirements.

Stay Safe.
