Relative

Friends,

I have become older now as after crossing fifty years of age in India people are treated as old.

So, at this juncture of life, I am wondering for some time, who are our relatives.

Relative is a word we heard many times in our day-to-day lifestyle.

If you go through Cambridge Dictionary “Relative is a noun meaning a member of your family”.
By other Relative means “A person connected with another by blood or affinity”.

But do you believe relative means there should be a relation with that person?

I believe that relative does not mean you should have a relation. At the time of need who so ever is in support becomes your relative.

Whatever may be the blood relation you have with someone, if he or she is not trying to help you at the time of distress is not your relative.

Maybe it sounds a little harsh, but it is the truth.

Relatives do not mean that they are with you in good times, it means they are there at bad times also.

When you stay alone and no blood relations are nearby, the person who is helping you in your daily household becomes your relative. Your neighbors become your relative. The driver becomes your relative and even the persons working with you become your relative.

In this COVID pandemic situation, the people who are working day in and day out to save human life are the real relatives.

They never met you in their lifetime, maybe in future they will not meet you again, but the help they are providing made them relatives of yours.
They may be Doctors, Nurses, other Health staff, Ambulance drivers, medicine providers, food providers, your neighbor who is constantly enquiring about your health, friends who are supporting you physically and financially – are real relatives.

These above-mentioned thoughts are absolutely mine, you may differ at any point, which is welcome always.
