Life itself is hard. We struggle more, especially when we have no support. Sometimes, when we fall down, it’s easy to stand up as long as there is support but when there isn’t, it takes a longer time and for some, they might never even get up because they lack the motivation to do so. Living in my country has been more of a blessing than a setback, why? Well, that’s because I doubt I would have understood others this much if I were to live in a different country.

Growing up, my dad was the only one we could rely on for all we needed. Now that I’m old enough, I can’t help but wonder how he survived that stage, but of course, I’ll say he is my father and it is his responsibility but then, I know it wasn’t easy at all. The intriguing part was he never for once made us feel like a burden to him. I have seen families doing better than mine but yet, they make their wives and children feel like a burden to them. So, I want to start by feeling grateful for my family and how far I have come.
I’m a Nigerian and here in my country, earning a good living isn’t easy but it’s possible no matter the situation we find ourselves. I have lived in some worse times but yes, I won’t really compare that to some people but then, I’m just trying to let you know that I have also experienced hardship. I also had a time when I couldn’t get the basic things I need, food, clothing. Shelter was there but we were at the verge of being thrown out but God helped us.
So ever since then, I knew my situation wasn’t the best and I had to start thinking of ways to survive. I was always curious to learn, but most of all, I learned how to always do things well while making the most of my situation (good or bad), even though I was being paid pennies and that’s because I believe by doing things well, it earns me more in a long run. I didn’t chase after the money even though that was what I actually really needed. At some point, I was almost forced to change my mind because that’s not how others do their things but I didn’t. I rather focused on getting the best out of anything I was doing.

Despite how hard it is to earn a living in my country, I knew that as long as I’m good at what I do, I’ll be able to make a living with it. And most especially, I try not to be dishonest with the things I do either just because I needed money. I didn’t let my background make me lose my dignity as a human being. I’ll rather go hungry for some days than do something dishonest just to get more money in exchange of my dignity. I have been dishonest in some things and it never ended well. I lost my say in things and I also had to compromise in things that I shouldn’t have.
It might be hard to earn in my country but I believe that as long as we are honest and diligent in what we do, we can survive here. There are opportunities everywhere but the problem is, most people want to get rich quick so they often shut their eyes to some opportunities that they find too small or something. They forget that even those small opportunities can open bigger opportunities for them. In my case, I have been able to come this far because I never rejected any opportunity just because it’s small. I only rejected it because I’ll have to make a lot of compromises that are against what I stand for.
This is my entry to the Iucontest on HOW EASY (OR HARD) IS IT TO EARN IN YOUR COUNTRY.

Life is never easy, even when you have material things out live in rich countries there are always issues with other people, looking for the right job, the right boss or just the right market to earn a living. Even in the US, most young adults struggle to buy a home compared with their parents and their parents.
Same thing in Japan. South Korea or even Spain. Life is never easy, no matter where you are. But it does get easier as you keep at it. New challenges arise, being the best parent, husband or human it's a challenge. Not everything is money, but spirituality, morals, knowledge health and action could all become its own battle.
That’s right, Jza.
Thank you so much for stopping by. 💜
