Most times here in this part of Nigeria, harvest periods are usually during November period. I can't fathom why it's so but I guess maybe of the weather display that make it to be so. Normally,it's expected that harvest period should be carried out when the raining season is gone. That's when people here believe that most of any plant should have reached the harvest period.

Why did I harvest at this time of the year?

My maize plant have reached to be harvested about two to three weeks ago but because I wanted to let it dry a bit before I harvested was the reason why the harvest was delayed this far. During the harvest,I was A-MAIZED with the outcome. Though there are just little disappointment because some of them didn't develop due to proper lack of pollination between the tassels(male reproductive organ) and the silk(female reproductive organ).

If you check most of the pictures above, you will clearly see that most of the maize seeds really bear so much seeds and most of the seeds are full with no deficiency.

Some little disappointment.

Some of the disappointments are, see of the seeds have been eating off by birds, rodents and some huge ants. Clearly, that's one of the disadvantages attached to me not to have harvested on time.

But all in all, it's been a wonder journey for about 3 months plus.
