I'm not completely sure of the dialog in this scene. Would this be her reaction to meeting her mother? Is it a bit abrupt? Let me know what you think.

Sar: Did Ruby send you?
Woman 1: We don’t know anyone named Ruby, we are looking for a girl from St. Wilde’s...
Maia: Sarah?
Sarah lets go of the hostage and he stumbles back towards the group. The resistance members drop their aim.
Sar: How do you know my name?
Maia: I… I am your mother.
Sar: But my mother died.
Sarah remembers the flashback. The face of her mother is just a shadow.
Sar: She left me at St. Wilde’s 15 years ago...
Maia: I’m so sorry. I did what I had to for both of us to survive.
Sar: Why didn’t you come back?
Maia: We are now....
Sarah runs back down the tunnel towards the city. Sam follows her.
Sam: Hey, stop. You knew there was a chance we’d find her.
Sar: (through tears) I really thought she was dead, like everyone else in my life. Why did she leave me in that hell? Why did she wait so long to come back?
Sam: She wanted what was best, I’m sure. She couldn’t have known it would be that bad.
Sar: It’s just too much. She joined the Resistance? What have they been doing all these years?
Sam: I don’t know, but they are here now. Maybe we should give them a chance?
Sar: Why are they here? Why are they looking for me now? I just wanted out of the city, not to find the mother who abandoned me…
Sam: You’ve been through Hell. Now that they are here maybe you can have a better life. Refound family is better than none…
Sarah hesitates but eventually relents. They walk back towards the group.
