Greetings to the parents who make life in this beautiful community giving the best every day to educate the children at home; December and officially Christmas has begun, taking advantage of this beautiful time of the year, which is characterized by being very colorful and emotional; as we celebrate and remember the birth of Jesus, we gather as a family and decorate the house with a wide variety of ornaments; I made with my son four spheres using fabric and materials of different textures, the spheres are made of cardboard which is a material that we usually have at home and scraps of fabric.
To learn about some textures we used smooth and corrugated cardboard, polar blanket fabric, felt, sports fabric, buttons and ribbons, each of these materials has properties that allow the child to stimulate the senses in this case touch and sight, the activity consists of touching each element and describe its characteristics; for example, the polar blanket is a very soft and smooth fabric, with which we can keep ourselves safe from the cold, the buttons are hard and smooth, the corrugated cardboard is hard and rough, the felt is rigid and a little rough as well as the ribbon, when observing it seems to be very soft, the cardboard is smooth and hard, the sports fabric has two characteristics: it is very soft on the reverse side and not so much on the right side, we decided to use it on the reverse side to give a variety of textures to the ornaments and expand the sensory station.
In addition to sensory stimulation, we work on the importance of recycling and giving a new use to the resources we have at home, which helps to reduce the emission of garbage and care for the planet, as well as saving money by taking advantage of the resources at home and avoiding unnecessary purchases. Personally, I really like to work with waste material, mainly with cardboard, it is very versatile and adapts very well to crafts.
Saludos a los padres que hacen vida en esta hermosa comunidad dando lo mejor cada día para educar a los niños en casa; ya inició el mes de diciembre y oficialmente la Navidad, aprovechando esta hermosa época del año, que se caracteriza por ser muy colorida y emotiva; ya que celebramos y recordamos el nacimiento de Jesús, nos reunimos en familia y decoramos la casa con una amplia variedad de adornos; realicé con mi hijo cuatro esferas usando tela y materiales de diferentes texturas, las esferas están elaboradas en cartón que es un material que usualmente tenemos en casa y retazos de tela.
Para conocer algunas texturas usamos cartón liso y corrugado, tela manta polar, fieltro, tela deportiva, botones y cintas, cada uno de estos materiales posee propiedades que permiten al niño estimular los sentidos en este caso el tacto y la vista, la actividad consiste en tocar cada elemento y describir sus características; por ejemplo la manta polar es una tela muy suave y blanda, con la cual podemos mantenernos a salvo del frío, los botones son duros y lisos, el cartón corrugado es duro y aspero, el fieltro es rígido y un poco aspero al igual que la cinta, al observarla parece ser muy suave, pero al palparla no se siente suave, el cartón es liso y duro, la tela deportiva presenta dos características es muy suave por el revés y no tanto por el derecho, decidimos usarla por el revés para dar una variedad de texturas a los adornos y ampliar la estación sensorial.
Además de la estimulación sensorial, trabajamos la importancia del reciclaje, y darle un nuevo uso a los recursos que disponemos en casa, lo cual ayuda reducir la emisión de basura y cuidar el planeta, también el ahorro, al aprovechar los recursos en casa y evitar las compras innecesarias. En lo personal me gusta mucho trabajar con material de provecho principalmente con cartón, es muy versátil y se adapta muy bien a las manualidades.

How do we do it?
Using a cup as a mold we mark and cut the circles in cardboard.

On the fabrics we mark and cut the Christmas figures that we will use to decorate the spheres, in this opportunity we chose the 'Christmas tree, snowman, boot and a design from the fabrics, which we cut following the pattern.
En las telas marcamos y cortamos las figuras navideñas que usaremos para decorar las esferas,en esta oportunidad elegimos el ´árbol de navidad, muñeco de nieve, bota y un diseño de las telas, el cual cortamos siguiendo el estampado.
Once the figures were cut we glued them on the cardboard and proceeded to decorate them, the initial idea was to use cardboard and fabric, as we progressed we incorporated elements such as buttons and ribbons of different textures, we were very surprised by a ribbon for its rough texture (which we put on the edges of one of the spheres), we added buttons to the tree to simulate the lights; we made the boot using the back of the sports fabric and the snowman in polar blanket and the last sphere in Christmas gabardine fabric, in this process it is important that the child develop his creativity and add the elements that define this season; it was a very fun sensory journey, my son's favorite fabric was the polar blanket because it is very soft and will keep him safe from the cold that is doing at this time of the year.
Ya cortadas las figuras las pegamos en el cartón y procedimos a decorarlas, la idea inicial era usar cartón y tela, a medida que avanzabamos incorporamos elementos como botones y cintas de diferentes texturas, nos sorprendió mucho una cinta por su textura áspera (la que pusimos en los bordes de una de las esferas), al árbol le agregamos botones para simular las luces; la bota la hicimos usando el revés de la tela deportiva y el muñeco de nieve en manta polar y la ultima esfera en tela gabardina navideña, en este proceso es importante que el niño desarrolle su creatividad y agregue los elementos que definen esta temporada; fue un viaje sensorial muy divertido, la tela favorita de mi hijo fue la manta polar porque es muy suave y lo mantendrá a salvo del frío que está haciendo en esta época del año
Finally, we glue the hanging piece on the back of the sphere and thus we finish the sensory journey and the Christmas ornaments to decorate the tree.
Finalmente pegamos el colgadero en la parte trasera de la esfera y así termina el viaje sensosrial y los adornos navideños.
