Home Education Curation Collection. 30th October 2021

in Home Edders2 years ago

My apologies for missing the curation last week. It was a week of cleaning, visitors and a birthday in the family. I'm sure all our wonderful community members will understand.

This week I went over to check on the Proofofbrain token and power up any the account might have earnt so we can be using it in our votes. I'll be honest, we don't have much, but beneficiaries from the curation post will also get proofofbrain tokens at the same percentage as Hive, so we'll still be distributing any earnt amongst the community that way.

First our usual thank you everyone who makes this community what it is. This week 5% beneficiaries for interaction and contribution to the HomeEdders community go to:

@afterglow
@missdonna
@melbourneswest
@queenart

We all know how important being able to read is, but a child can be so easily put off learning if they aren't enjoying what they are reading. This was happening with @taliakerch's lad, so she hunted around for more entertaining early reading options and now he is always picking up his books to read.

I didn't know that Canada has a Thanksgiving day! It turns out it's in October, a little earlier in the year than for the US, so we already have some homeschooling ideas from @near-mrs to celebrate both Thanksgiving and Halloween. Do you celebrate either of these days in your country, or do you have similar special days?

Last week @melbourneswest was making hydrogen with his Little Miss. She looks like she's having so much fun! Now the periodic table song is running around my head. Hydrogen is the first on the table, after all...

If you're looking for some art and craft ideas, you can't go far wrong with @queenart. She's shown us a couple of projects this week, but I thought I'd share these clever Diwali decorations made from recycling and using up odds and ends.

Then we'll wrap up with another post from last week with @naimajudith’s interactive maths worm, or perhaps it could be a caterpillar if you prefer. This is such a cute little matching game with different interactive discs.

Thank you for joining us. This curation was brought to you by @minismallholding and this week I have added @canadian-coconut as 10% beneficiary for the ongoing delegation and all around support of community posts. Thank you!
