"A country hit by the economy, but with the ingenuity of its people we are seeing progress." I speak WITHOUT CENSORSHIP about the whole situation.

Initially this is a topic of a conflict that is currently trending worldwide. A conflict that is developing day by day and that far from getting better, every day I think it looks uglier.

Venezuela is a rich country, very rich in natural resources, which under Spanish rule, Venezuela served as a mine of precious metals, its gold mines nourished the Spanish coffers since the sixteenth century, while other resources such as cocoa, tobacco and sugar would later be highly coveted and imported to the European continent.

Later in Venezuela there was the extraction of diamonds, silver and an endless number of other minerals. I mention this because the wealth of resources in the country is the key to its overwhelming success in golden times.

The fact is that Venezuela longed for the indecency of the Spanish empire, the enlightenment and the ideals that emerged from the French revolution placed in the Creoles, when Napoleon invaded Spain, the independence fighters saw a perfect opportunity that they could not miss. This is how the great referent of all Venezuelans, Simón Bolívar, emerged.

Simón Bolívar, was the one who led the independence struggle, the so called provinces in Venezuela. It was first integrated by what was called the Gran Colombia and later became independent of this, being already completely independent.

Our liberator Simon Bolivar, left a phrase before he died, which is named by every teacher in our preparation and this was "AMERICA IS INGOVERNABLE".

To talk about the political history of my country is to talk about dictatorship, since during the whole XIX century, only civil wars interrupted them. The same thing happened in the 20th century. In 1908, the dictator Juan Vicente Gómez came to power and found a great economic crisis caused by Venezuela's debt with the great powers.

Well, now you may be wondering why Jesus is telling me all this, simple; with all this I can answer the question asked in the contest, which I quote at this moment: "HOW IS THE COST OF LIVING IN YOUR COUNTRY OR REGION?

CURRENT COST SITUATION IN VENEZUELA

I currently reside in the city of Caracas - Venezuela; and I must point out that it is beautiful, but we live in a reality that is quite difficult to understand. We are submerged in a very confusing economy, where at present we have a currency that is practically a symbol without value; For those who do not know, in Venezuela the official currency is the Bolivar, but we are directed for some time in an economy expressly in American dollars.

I live in a country where innovation and personal entrepreneurship of many people are rescuing the economy. However, a large part of the country (high risk areas) is very vulnerable to the current situation.

Regarding the minimum wage in Venezuela, it is a very complex issue to rescue. Motivated by the fact that the value of the minimum wage in Venezuela does not exceed $2.00, this is a very complex point for many parents who have to do other jobs to be able to eat well. It is estimated that the current cost of food is over $200 per month. Of course, this depends on many factors. This depends on many factors; from the number of people to the monthly income.

In relation to public services, I feel that we are in a very classist situation, because the value of these will depend on the area where you live. But even so, the essential services are of very low quality. Many power cuts. A big problem in the water supply.

HOW DO WE DO TO COMBAT THIS BIG PROBLEM?

I think, that we Venezuelans are very innovative people and we always find the solution for something, many of us have decided to bet for our country, creating ventures that allow a small but very sustainable economy at the same time; we do not let the current problems affect us and we look for a measure that allows us to move forward. We are faithful believers that this will pass and that Venezuela will emerge like the Phoenix Bird. Right now we are making a lot of effort to be able to live moderately in the country.

It is evident that the nation is going through the biggest ECONOMIC CRISIS of all times, as a consequence of bad policies and bad decisions.

Well, it is not easy for me to talk about my country nowadays, but I wanted many people of other nationalities to see and read a little of our history and what we live in the present. I am one of those Venezuelans who love their nation and would think a lot about leaving it, even with so many problems that surround us.
