Question: What is the cost of living like in your country or region?

PhotoGrid_1617421234030.jpg

Well I will start by saying cost of living in my own country (Nigeria) isn't that easy.
The economy isn't in favor of anyone as our president (government) stopped the importation of goods into our country, the governor at the other hand telling everyone to go into farming.

Through this process, things especially food stuff keeps increasing everyday and it's makes it difficult for the less privilege and for everyone too.
I can still remember when a cup of rice was just #50 Naira but at today a cup of rice is now #170 Naira which makes a lot of people especially with a large family 👪 make some adjustments.

Everyone struggle everyday day to earn money so that they can feed their families.

With the Educational sector, government did well by providing a free education, for the children whom parents find it's difficult to avoid private school (fees).

Finding a good payed job in my country isn't easy at all, and this makes many graduates get involves in entrepreneurship (self employed) while some get involves in selling at the market (trader) just to make a living (survival).

I'm a teacher, working as a isn't easy, and the payment isn't favourable too. Working so hard and tirelessly everyday, to teach the children (impact) knowledge to them, to prepare then for the future.

At the end of the month receive a salary of #8,000 Naira. Which can't provide for you for a month due to the economy section, where the price of everything is high and you have a family 👪 to feed. The money isn't enough.

The government isn't helping at all, the youths needs empowerment and our government should help in creating job opportunities. And then allow goods to be imported into our country to help reduce the cost of things in the country. They should also look into the economy section and put things in order to make the cost of living favourable to everyone.

Our food

Nigeria had a lots of food, which taste delicious. These includes:

  • porridge yam, which is preparing using yam
  • Afang Soup
  • Vegetables Soup
  • Rice
  • Rice and Stew and more more

The cost of housing partially isn't that costly over here, but it's depends on the type of house you want to buy or rent. Renting a bed room flat is costly than just one bedroom.

our dressing for traditional marriage

In my own region this is how we dress.

We still believe in the future that's why we are working hard to survival so that we can make the future better.

Nigeria is a lovely place to be but will be a paradise if our government works well.

That is a big jump in the price of food! This seems to be a theme across the world at the moment with food prices, from what I'm reading. I'm curious now to know the cost of housing and rental as it seems like the bulk of income in many places has to go towards food. In Australia the bulk of our income goes on housing costs, closely followed by food.

The last time I check the cost of renting one bedroom flat apartment was #150,000 (thousand) Naira for a year while just one bedroom room (where kitchen and toilet is outside) for a year is #36,000 (thousand) Naira. How costly is house renting in your Australia?

It depends where you live. In the city centre it's the most expensive and you might get one bedroom places from $195 (about 57,000 Naira) per week on the lowest end, usually it's more. Outside the city they don't really have one bedroom places, so it's two bedroom or larger and you'll pay around the same for a two bed and $300 (about 87000 Naira) for a three bed, unless you are prepared to live a couple of hours drive from the city, where it gets a bit cheaper again.

We are in Adelaide, one of the cheaper cities, though. Places like Sydney are much more expensive.
