Trying To Hold Onto Our Freedom ! How Important is Freedom of Education?

It really feels like, we are constantly fighting hard to hold on to any freedom's that we have left. Slowly over time, we have been left with fewer choices in life, choices affecting how we wish to live, from the way we birth our young, to the way we raise them and the way in which we choose to heal them.

Our children, that we bring into this world and that we vow to take care of, we are losing our rights over how to raise them and guide them. Instead we are being told to place our faith in the governments, in the health and educational systems. All of which have their own agenda. Regardless of what each individual working within those systems might believe, they themselves have very little freedom, when it comes to how they do their job, instead they are there to follow guidelines.

When we look at the public educational system, each teacher is instructed. in the way in which they teach their students. Each child is treated the same way, regardless of how they learn or the experiences they may have gone through, that could affect their ability to learn. Everyone is expected to perform the same way, to reach the same level, in the same amount of time. There is no room to be anyone other, that what they expect you to be.

There is no opportunity to explore, to learn creatively, they is only their way, a way in which they expect you to succeed! So many expectations, from such a young age, making children become more competitive and having them doubt themselves.

We have long known, that we all learn in different ways, I see it everyday with my daughters. Some of us have the ability to pick things up easily and remember them, whilst others are more hands on and need to get a feel for what they are learning. Some of us love books and love to study, whilst others long to be out there experiencing it all for themselves, indeed they can not take it in unless they get to partake in it, to act out what the teachers read to them or they read for themselves.

So many children never get the opportunity to explore the different ways in which they can learn and as a result some do not learn at the same speed as others. Because of this, they end up being labelled, being told that they are not good enough. They may never realize their true potential, because they have been taught to doubt themselves from a young age.

Freedom is all about exploring, having the ability to explore who you are and the world around you and this in itself, has got, to be one of the greatest ways in which to learn. By being able to learn as you choose, and to truly enjoy it in the process. Learning is a gift and one that every child craves to do as they navigate their way around the world. They are born with a hunger to learn.

But the more humans interfere with their learning, the more they lose that hunger and that joy that comes with it. When a child discovers something for themselves, their confidence builds and so they begin their lives, knowing what it means to be able to empower themselves. If they are left to learn in this way, to discover and teach themselves, then they can really become who they wish to be, with no doubts, only full belief in their own capabilities.

If we are to keep restricting education, then we are also going to keep restricting our children's growth.

Our diversity within in this world is what helps us thrive, encouraging that diversity is what is going to help us continue to thrive. But all of that comes under threat when we try to assert too much control. When we try to contain people and their creative abilities. If the wish is for a world where people obey blindly, then yes restrict our freedoms, restrict the way in which we learn.

But I believe our children should decide how they wish to learn, that they should be given the opportunity to direct their education. From a young age, we tell them that they need to learn from us, that as adults we know more about the world. But they are in fact more connected and they see things in a much clearer way. We tend to complicate our learning and teaching with emotions.

We have as much to relearn from them, as they have to learn from us. They need the freedom to do so, as do we and as their parents and their elders we need to fight to maintain that freedom. To should them, how important it is in life to have choices, choices that open up more opportunities for them. Choices that help to empower them.

"They are born with a hunger to learn."

So true. Observation, followed by the experimentation of trying it themselves is inbuilt. I recall that many of the things I wanted to learn more about and develop, I rarely picked up fully in the school lesson times and instead gained mastery of working on it at home. I often felt uncomfortable trying to develop my own way of learning it in front of others anyway, for fear of judgement and because teachers would often intervene while I was trying to process it and correct me, which was often more like undermining me.

exactly, and there is when the doubt really comes in to play. We are all so different, how we see the world and interact with it, all of these things have an effect on the way we learn, so we need to have the freedom to chose and explore xxx

...Whats next...compulsory Covid style immunity injections that are totally voluntary if you want it, but if you don't your kids can't have an education and you can't leave your house. no need to fine you if you don't want, your neighbours will dob you in and or have rights to stone you to death haha....laughing to not cry as its probably gonna happen :(
