This Week in Hive-Powered dApps, Tribes, & Tokens
Hive powers a growing number of decentralized apps (dApps). Since they all live on the same chain, one Hive account can access every app. Here's a quick summary of the Hive app landscape.
@ausbitbank's hive.ausbit.dev Hive frontend saw several updates again this week. The site now supports browsing by tag and by community. A comment editor was added, and a post editor is on the way. Dogecoin tipping was also added. [info]
ClickTrackProfit shared a few updates this week. Their payments tool HivePay.io has partnered with ARK to be listed on the MarketSquare decentralized internet portal. Also, the team is close to relaunching the CTPTalk tribe frontend. [info]
DBuzz, the micro-blogging dapp, rolled out a URL shortening service this week. [info]
Ecency, the Hive front end and mobile app, rolled out some changes this week. The mobile app redesigned the account switching page and the advanced search page. Image loading was also changed to improve user experience.
On the Ecency desktop side, a new Advanced Search page was launched. Wallet passwords can now be changed from the Ecency app. The post editor now supports save snippets. The Italian language is now supported. [info]
Hive-Engine, the Layer 2 smart contracts platform, prepares to launch its decentralized backend on Feb 3rd. Wallets staking WORKERBEE tokens will be able to vote for witnesses. [info] A new front end site is also in the works at Tribaldex.com.
LeoFinance, the finance blogging dapp, has fully deployed a new Lightning DB feature this week. The feature makes the app 10X faster when posting comments. This week's Leo roundtable podcast shared updates on the upcoming ProjectPlank microblogging dapp and LeoInfra V2, among other things.
PALNet, the first Hive tribe, announced coming changes to token distribution and staking incentives. [info]
This Week in Hive-Powered Games
Hive is home to a growing number of blockchain games. Here's a quick summary of the Hive game landscape.
Exode, the space-survival-simulation game, is on the verge of releasing a new planet exploration demo, @elindos reports.
HashKings, the cannabis grower game, recently started a pre-sale event. They are a few weeks away from launching the revamped game, @qwoyn reports.
Rabona, the football/soccer manager game, shared some game stats this week. Rabona has 320 monthly active players, and they've given away more than 10,000 Hive in player rewards.
RisingStar, the band manager game, has launched a new Valentine's Day mission and seasonal rewards cards. [info]
Unsung Hero, the new RPG game by @slowsundaygames, recently started running art contests. Packs and items are given out to winners. Game development is within a few weeks of starting the testing phase. [info]

Should've mentioned #DCity's insane taxes here as well~
What's the story here? I didn't see any official updates on their blog.
Oh, it's not an official thing. Just the current president kept increasing the taxes and the players (whom I interacted with) aren't happy. It's not a big deal but something #DCity players talk about (see the tag on Hive.)
If it has to be an official thing I understand why it's not here. Wasn't sure how this list worked.
