Open Public Testing of Hive.Loans v0.1.0 Coming in the Next Week or So..

in #hive3 years ago (edited)

image.png

While a bit behind schedule due to the personal decision being made to take some incredibly needed time off the workstation after the DHF proposal exodus event triggered by HBD Stabilizer alluded precedence of bag pumping / token pegging over the developer community quite pleased to announce that if everything continues on the rate it's currently going, the Hive.Loans "account as collateral" P2P HIVE liquidity lending service should be ready to begin public open beta testing within the next 4 to 7 days. The application self audit function just recently was introduced to the equation allowing not only for the application to monitor and audit itself by the minute, but also to increase application transparency and provide information to the user base on the current state of Hive.Loans

Auto Audit Reporting to Increase Security and Transparency

image.png
When building complex systems that handle custodial funds it's vital not only to have your application be able to monitor it's own state as well as any wallets it may utilize but to also keep track of various metrics like account balances and available capital on site in check with eachother.. not only be able to programmatically enforce certain security aspects and sanity checks that should be present, but also to allow the community access to monitoring data generally hidden away in private database somewhere, which is often never accessible to the public. While the DB the application currently operates on isn't accessible to users save for the API functionality that will ship with the site, a remarkable amount of data in the pursuit of security and transparency is given.

The self audit function of Hive.Loans performs a full site check before any critical operation which changes site account data as well as every 60 seconds to not only check the health and condition of the site, but also protect against any potentially unwanted actions taken by malicious users on the site or to alert the developer or moderator any particular discrepancy in the audit warrants.

By actively monitoring all important site assets and keeping record of things the hope is that not only myself but other future operators of their own version of the site are provided with tools to help them stay on top of everything while knowing that monitoring for the most part can be configured to allow for alerts customization or notifications to be routed to eyes that need to see them.

HIVE Price Tracking and Contract For Difference Trading

Not entirely sure that the "Futures" or CFD trading functionality on site against HIVE price will make it into this initial preliminary public testing phase, but certainly absolutely fucking stoked to be the first developer on the network to offer the ability to trade against or with the HIVE price rises, effectively opening up the flood gates for traders to create profits by being able to correctly predict the price action and direction of HIVE prices on the open market versus their position price and direction.

A real time price chart as well as standard CFD trading tools such as stop limit will be included on all account ranks to help traders safely prepare their trading positions, just like any other exchange offering CFDs, with the difference being that off the hop only the HIVE asset price will be offered to trade against, with the additional assets HBD, BTC, USD and Gold spot prices planned for later.

A small but fair spread will act as a financial deterrent against opening up rapid succession positions and while the thought of having traders winnings be funded by a privately held bankroll for the Futures capital pool, it was decided to make it open to public, allowing for the CFD capital pool to be supplied by any member of the community, which in turn will then enable those supplying the bankroll to be entitled to receive a percentage of the profits (or loses) generated by traders being liquidated due to insufficient capital in their accounts to cover their long or short positions, positions being closed with values less than their opening spot price or when positions end up being forced to close due to market movement in the opposite direction exceeding the acceptable limits.

Leveraged or Margin CFD trading is also planned and will likely be shipped a bit further down the road due to the bankroll required to support leveraged trading being far greater than supporting a non-leveraged CFD trading platform. All positions will be calculated in real time and with constant price updates being checked against current trader positions I suspect in addition to the lending platform the CFD trading element of the site will quite likely be a great revenue generator.

In order to allow CFD traders to verify the prices at the time of opening, closing or being liquidated from their positions the site is now tracking HIVE price from a number of sources and saving the historical HIVE market price average in order for prices to be verified after the fact to ensure operators not only remain honest but are able to prove certain prices were observed at certain times.

To make the service profitable for the website and it's investors and shareholders a small commission fee will be taken upon opening any position and a fairly industry standard percentage of profits from the investing side as well as traders side being deducted from profits in order to not only ensure that with usage of the site and the subsequent volume produced ensures returns for share holders and bankroll investors, provided the CFD traders aren't extraordinarily lucky.

Preventative Measures Against Investor "Rug-Pulling"

Due to the reactive nature of CFD trading all potential profits or loses pertaining to a users investment of HIVE capital into the CFD community bankroll will be applied in real time according to the calculated profits or loses of traders, which is calculated on every price update (1 - 5 seconds), which is ultimately determined by a formula that pulls price information from a number of sources. Rather than allowing investors in the bankroll the ability to rug pull or force CFD position cancellation due to inadequate bankroll capital the divestment features of the bankroll will be time locked for a minimum of 7 days and with a minimum investment amount of 1 HIVE.

Investments will be allowed instantly however to withdraw a bankroll investor will need to initiate a bankroll divest operation on site and then wait the minimum timeclock period in order to have funds returned to their wallet balance. During this divest time lock period their investment will still be subject to profits and loses incurred by CFD trader positions successfully calling price trends or hemorrhaging their position capital due to price movements of the market being unprofitable given any given postion.

To ensure that investors cannot potentially abuse CFD traders by providing capital which allows for large positions to be opened only to have investors force closure of positions do to them retracting capital and the system detecting inadequate bankroll to support trader positions. In addition to the bankroll investments being time locked a minimum position duration of 1 hour is required, unless the position happens to bump into stop loss prices points that are set prior to opening the position.

While slightly different than conventional CFD margin trading as the bankroll grows and the platform attracts a larger bankroll and works towards implementation of alternative asset prices to speculate on these time lock restrictions will slowly be dialed back in a sustainable fashion.

The design considerations have been tailored around the site being self sustaining or profitable to the point it's able to operate without any form of capital support needed beyond the partial DHF funding it received and the proceeds from the initial Hive.Loans share offering that will be mentioned in greater detail below.

HL Shares: Own a Tradeable Part of Hive.Loans

Currently working on implementing full fledged exchange functionality into the website in order to facilitate a free market in which a limited number of shares in the Hive.Loans project will be initially offered and traded on between site accounts on the market hosted within the service. Share count will be kept low with a cap of 100,000 HL Shares each worth 0.001% (or 0.0002% of total lending revenue fees) of the allotted 20% of the sites total lending contract revenue, generated by fees outlined below, to be paid via month end dividends based on percentage of shares held by any given account over the past month. Due to the website not supporting decimal places beyond 3 any dividend payouts less than 0.001 HIVE will be held back until the dividend balance on a shareholders account passes the minimum payout threshold.

Not only will the exchange aspect of the HL site shares allow for the users and market to buy and sell share with eachother, but the shares will not ever be subject to a split or anything of the sort unless it's collectively agreed upon by majority (> 90%) shareholders, with the decision to split only becoming a voteable proposal 1 year after the official launch of the site. The shares are offered as a less risky speculation tool and investment vehicle when compared to supplying the CFD trading bankroll. By design the HL Shares should offer a slightly smaller return, but with a lesser risk exposure when compared to outright bankroll investing in the futures capital pool.

Firstly because the shares purchased on the market can be sold back to the market at any time at the price dictated by the users of the market and secondly due to the dividends paid on shares monthly. They're intended to pay themselves off as site volume on both the lending and CFD trading side of things increases, resulting in HL shares functioning as an ability to capitalize upon the volume and fees of the Hive.Loans service simply by holding a piece of it in the form of a tradeable share. Share holdings will be presented on site in the pursuit of service transparency however details such as the account name holding shares will be omitted in order to allow for users from countries that generally condemn individuals from owning share in crypto based businesses to hold share without fear of attracting unwanted attention from their local flavour of SEC. Share price will fall between 0.1 to 1 HIVE. We'll see the initial asking price when the official announcement goes online. :)

Site Profit Distribution Breakdown and Payment Schedule

image.png
The following information is provided in order to help users understand exactly how the Hive.Loans service will generate profit, as well as outline the distribution of revenue generated by the site. Due to the community funding which was revoked near the tail end of the development cycle of Hive.Loans cycle some of the originally quoted profit percentages that initially were earmarked as monthly DHF dividends have been slightly scaled back in value, matching the percentage of HBD that wasn't paid to the proposal near the end of the cycle in favour of it being redistributed to shareholders.

Revenue Distribution will be paid out as monthly dividends in the following percentages:

  • 52% - paid to the Developer, to be re-invested in future R&D and to fund updates
  • 20% - paid to Hive.Loans Shareholders, with actual amount determined by % of shares held
  • 18%* - paid to the DHF, see fine print below for calculation logic used to determine this
  • 10% - paid to the Benefactor, @CoinInstant was lucky enough to win the Benefactor rank

The above percentages refer to the following fees the application charges:

  • Lending Contract Creation Fees
  • Lending Contract Commission Fees
  • Lending Contract Cancellation Fees
  • Lending Contract Withdraw Fees
  • Lending Contract Tampering Fines Fees

( * Change to monthly DHF donation was calculated based on revoke of funding occurring at roughly 75% of proposal duration )

At the end of each month the allotted dividends or site revenue your share holdings or unique rank entitles you to will be added to your Hive.Loans account. As the revenue from fees generated from the site are publicly displayed and tracked in what is essentially real time not only will you be able to ensure that your percentage of the proverbial pie aligns with projected returns on the platform it will also serve to keep operators honest as actions on the site will be mirrored on the blockchain and later on the Hive Smart Chain once it's built up to the point to enable proper decentralization of the underlying functionality needed to operate the various features and functions of Hive.Loans.

Revenue Distribution pertaining to the CFD community funded bankroll payout percentages:

  • 90% - profits paid to bankroll investors, scaled to the % of the bankroll they supply
  • 10% - paid to the Developer as commission, to be re-invested in future R&D and to fund updates
(Depending on how profitable the 10% commission on CFD revenue is, I'll likely end up forwarding some percentage of the CFD commissions to shareholders provided it's economically feasible )

Revenue mentioned above will be generated by the following fees attached to CFD trading:

  • Opening a position
  • Any spread generated revenue
  • Liquidation of trading positions not backed by enough capital
  • Positions closed due to market price events

Massive thank you to everyone who supported the DHF proposal, even though it didn't last the duration of the proposal it certainly helped ease a bit of the financial stresses involved with developing this HIVE application. Looking forward to seeing everyone above and more on the site public open beta testing launching here in within the next 7 days or so. A formal Share offering post will be created when I've finished polsihign the exchange side of things so stay tuned.

(and once again I apologize for listing everyone, but it had to be done for my own archiving ;) )

I don’t understand coding, but I find smart people like you very attractive 😘😂😂😂

Seriously, I am impressed, I'm going to take my time examining what this might mean to me. Take care @kyle; we need you to stay healthy❤️

<3

Not sure what I've ever been is considered "healthy" due to the clusterfuck that happens to be my brain chemistry.. But I totally appreciate the pass at me and the ego boost. Thanks lovely.

TL:DR; You will be able to lend out, or borrow HIVE with your account used as collateral. Then we'll also have contract for difference trading available a bit later on so you can speculate on the HIVE price and ultimately win HIVE if you guess the right way over a period of time. :)

Looks like I am going to learn something new just for fun. I am not interested in making money. It almost sounds like gambling or playing the short or long positions in the stock market (I just learned these terms watching BTC rise and fall). I buy cryptocurrency that has a function and hold it long.

I've always liked you, @kyle. No matter how wacked your brain is, you have a good heart. Talking about cluster-fucked brain chemistry menopause was a shit show for me so I understand. The keto diet and exercise saved my sanity, plus I don't watch the news anymore.

Yeah, CFD trading is speculative gambling on an asset spot price. 100%
What you described is exactly the functionality I'm bringing to HIVE as a sort of side addition to the lending platform. The ability to borrow against your powered up HIVE might be a life saver for some, and it effectively sidesteps the stupid 13 week powerdown liquidity problem.

The news is trash! I avoid the shit too. Too damn busy focused on my own shit to honestly come up for air and focus on whatever the talking head on TV is referring to. You must have a thing for socially handicapped nerds.. But honestly I can't complain, the praise is sometimes what you need to hear when all the other noises around are sharp and rough to the touch. :/

" I buy cryptocurrency that has a function and hold it long."

A woman that does crypto AND has fundamentals about it? I may have to challenge your hubby to a duel and whisk you off to my igloo. XD

Appreciate you popping by and saying hi. Hopefully once development slows down a bit for me I'll be able to take some time to focus on my health.. In the mean time though it's long hours.

<3

I had a blast learning about crypto through Steemit and the friends I made there. You were one of my teachers, @kyle, and you made me laugh. That is a special talent. My husband is a lot like you, and I am a lot like my husband. We are all nerdy and socially handicapped. We are actually normal, and this world is socially handicapped. I don't do igloos. My bones are old and ache when I sit on ice...hahaha.

I won't lecture you on health because you are smart enough to figure it out for yourself ;-)

<3

These are nice things you say to me, appreciate it. :)

I guess what you state is ttrue.. Humans are akward as fuck, then it doesn't help that I am constantly trying to assess motive and psychoanalyze people..

lol, I feel you there. I'm still "young" but this fucking arthritis is more accurate at weather prediction than the meteorologists. ffs.

have a gooder lovely.

Oh wow, your really are shining through with all of this. Everything you are doing here looks above and beyond anything I was expecting. Good work!!!

It's coming together. Working on getting the exchange working.

While initially just aimed at hosting the site shares... I may end up opening up the exchange as a full functional setup with a few select trading pairs. Was looking to trade some HIVE today and the options were either expensive AF or had horrible rates.

When I get this exchange logic implemented and it's proven to be able to easily handle trading and thicc books.. We might give it a go to make it full fledged, which would then allow for us to build our own "quick swap" style market order swap service like blocktrades.

Frankly some competition within the ecosystem should be healthy. And I mean.. At the end of the day it's not like I can't port these to other networks or communities assuming shit here ever goes completely south.

You could port it to STEEM & or BLURT pretty easily, so it is in the power at "bees" best interest to keep you happy and healthy here.

I saw @davedickeyyall suggestion, I think he may be onto something, I think it would be profitable, you would still earn the hive, and the LEO too. Since the hive.loans posts are already finance related, the only opportunity cost would be the second it takes to adsd the tag to the post, since it is only one tag needed to get the post in the community. In the future you could even automate then and have the bot throw in the tag, as long as they don't think you are abusing their system U will be fine. There is also a high probability you will get a ton of votes there, especially if you adding the possibility of adding a Leo lending market, after all is said and done?? Couldn't hurt to try. Good luck, keep up the good work. It seems like every time you post about this it helps the price of hive. I think the bigwigs are watching!! Cheers!!
!LUV

Man.. I'm not sure no matter how disillusioned I could get if I could justify seriously going back to do anything in support of the Steem ecosystem.. If the day ever comes where I'm looking at steem as a development focus over HIVE I'll likely just walk away from graphene based DPOS systems all together. The thought of even putting a penny in sun yuchens slimey fucking hands after his exchange collusion bullshit makes me physically angry. FUCK that guy.

Blurt is one I'd have to consider closely as I think their removal of downvotes was suuuuper short sighted.. But then again if I've already got working codebases that are trivial to port over then perhaps it's something that I'll look into. I make so much damn fun of Blurt it would be ironic as hell to flip around and supply them with software.. but then again from a capitalists' developer standpoint and pride / fundamentals aside that is the obvious choice of action.

Been sort of on a rampage in terms of the politics and consensus disparity of the big wigs. I'm not actively trying to start a war with them, but certainly feel a bit sad after realizing basically anything short of a miracle or a handful of these projects really taking off I'll never have the stake to have my votes mean much. :/

Agreed, never going back to STEEM to help those disillusioned sea yuchins! To the seafloor for them, and to the Yacht club for us! Yeah BLURTTER may be an option, it had a little bit of potential. BEST to stick to the hive, this place is really going somewhere. Actually blurt might be a great testnet environment, since it is so closely linked to the HIVE! 🤙

The only potential I saw with Blurt removing the only function these graphene chains have to combat plagiarism would be to buy up some stake and then automate some lorem ipsum shitposting bots that upvote eachother to effectively be able to drain their market cap without having to worry about them being able to stop t.. because they effectively couldn't.

Will have to think about Blurt.. It's fundamentally flawed so it's a pretty considerable mental battle within me, knowingly providing services to something I'm not sure I even believe in.

True, I totally forgot they took my favorite thing outta there, the downvote! I got a bunch of them BLURTS, yeah true they cannot stop me from upvoting my own posts and comments. If i launched my old steem post bots there i could really reck shop! wow... hmm.... hadn’t thought of that... Whuhaha!!

Hi @klye, you were just shared some LUV thanks to @coininstant. Having at least 5 LUV in your wallet enables you to give up to 3 LUV per day, for free. Still can't wait for the site to go online. xD I'm even on the Backer Rank Users (Perk of 50% Reduced Site Fees) List! Twice! 😂

I mean.. that means 100% no fees.. .Right?

Can't tell if dude is a potato

How da fuk you not posting this from the leofinance.io front end? You hate money?

Does it give greater return? I never knew if it was worth it or not.

Yes it does. Plus Leo is targeted for financial stuff.. plus Leofinance.io pays in LEO and HIVE. This post would pay more in LEO than it will in HIVE but the best thing.. you get paid in both
