A list of active Hive/Steem accounts where the corresponding Steem account is voting for sham witnesses running 0.22.8888

in #hive4 years ago

Hello, you may have found your way here because of your Hive username being in this list. Created earlier today, this list contains all of the accounts that have posted on Hive since its birth that are currently voting on their corresponding Steem accounts for Steem witnesses running 0.22.8888.

In case you did not know, 0.22.8888 is an illegitimate version of Steem being run by illegitimate witnesses put at the top of Steem's witness list by a single vote from Sun Yuchen (Justin's real name). This illegitimate version restricts certain legitimate Steem stakeholder accounts, arbitrarily chosen by spiteful sham witnesses..

When the sham witnesses first implemented this illegitimate version of Steem, Sun Yuchen's proxy voting account @dev365 (which maintains centralized control over the consensus witnesses) unvoted any Steem account not running it. It may be noted here that many of the accounts currently being voted by Sun are still sockpuppets, two of which were brand new accounts when 0.22.8888 was first run, voted on before they even had their shared witness server working.

Born from the ashes of Steem's centralization attack

A centralized blockchain is pointless. It's a farce. You can't trust a ledger under the control of a single party. This is why Bitcoin has value while centralized digital currencies that came before it always failed. Steem is just the latest blockchains to prove that.

When these sham witnesses, voted on by a single party, arbitrarily decided some stakeholder accounts were not allowed to transact on the network, they showed their incompetence and wholesale disrespect for the blockchain and its stakeholders. If one legitimate Steem stakeholder is affected, it may as well be all of us.

Hive was born because its creators, longtime Steemians and cryptocurrency enthusiasts, knew that a new network without that attacking stake was needed. Steem will forever be under attack, and that is how it is playing out.

The people affected

You may be familiar with some of the people owning the affected accounts: @freedom, @pumpkin, @blocktrades, @gtg, @good-karma, @roelandp, @steempress, @darthknight. Some of these people have added incalculable value to Steem and now Hive. Far more than Steem's sham witnesses ever will as they peck apart the corpse of that blockchain. @darthknight is particularly affected because of a typo to where he wished to power down his STEEM, which would have been easily fixed had the sham witnesses of Steem not have arbitrarily chosen to restrict him from using his account.

Please

If you find your account name in this list, I invite you to consider the above. It is absolutely not fair to any stakeholder on the Steem network for legitimate stakeholders to have their accounts held hostage. Doing so diminishes the value of everyone's stake, including the stake those who may not like those people. I encourage you to review the witnesses you are voting on Steem and remove those who are diminishing your stake's value, among other injustices being committed by those running the illegitimate 0.22.8888 version.

Hive is built on a foundation of decentralization with the freedom for all to use their accounts as any other account would. I wish that anyone using Hive and simultaneously having a Steem account will align their values, one way or another.

broken chain

Rewards from this post are split in equal parts among the accounts restricted by 0.22.8888 with the rounding remainder (2%) sent to the decentralized Hive fund.

I think his type of "name and shame" post is very damaging and ultimately is informed by the same "centralizing" mentality which it claims to condemn.

"Decentralization" is only possible if people are free to choose. This type of post feels a lot like mobbing to me, and mobbing, attempting to "expose" to the community people to who happen to have a more nuanced view, is restricting freedom.

It is an attempt to centralize thinking like in George Orwell's "Animal Farm"

"4 legs good, 2 legs bad" has become in this post "witnesses running 0.22.8888 bad, those not running it good". Even worse, it extending the implicit condemnation to simple users who are exercising their freedom to choose the mix of witnesses they consider best. If a hive user votes for 29 witnesses of Hive but has the 30th vote for steemhunt or steemchiller, it appears in your "name and shame" list above.

Have you considered that things might be a tad more complicated perhaps ?

Thank you for your critical comment. I think I failed to effectively quell the implication of voting for witness = agreeing with their soft fork, especially when several of these Steem witnesses were legitimate people that contributed to Steem before they implemented 0.22.8888 to restrict arbitrary stakeholder accounts from most transactions. They received a lot of votes before that.

That's a layer of complexity I failed to address in the post. I have chosen not to edit the original post because I don't want to send more than one ping, and I think editing would do that for a good number of people.

There are a lot of comments but I've answered similar questions and criticisms in replies. I realize not everybody will read every comment when there are so many, but I hope they reach most people. Best I can do is give your reply an upvote so that it gets to the top.

In case you didn't see it, the lying backstabbing treasonous chicom [beep]sucking scammer 中共 justy still has 38k hive power-37k of which was delegated before the fork from other [likely inactive] users and he is starting to pick off hive users-such as yourself-and using the 38k hive to curate more hive-and power down also. He unfortunately, due to stinc delegation, has a high reputation on hive.

Without affecting the true owners of the hive tokens delegated to justyy, perhaps as an equitable remedy the hive witnesses should restrict his voting ability on the chain. He would still have the freedom to spend his hive, and still have his speech on hive, even if the chicom socialist doesn't like the logos and economic rights of others.

All he cares about is his 30 pieces of silver anyways.

Hive is more resilient than to worry about a pissant farmer with 38K delegated stake.

This isn't a name and shame list. All the information can be accessed by everyone, and it's merely pointing out, certain people did certain action which do not along with the core values of Hive.

Under decentralisation, these people are free to continue with the said action particular if it aligns with their core values. All @pfunk is saying is "I invite" "I encourage" "I wish".... I can't see him saying "You must" and even if he did, no one is under any obligation to do as he says.

That's what decentralisation is about, freedom of choice and transparacy

Well ... in a social setting with "downvotes" it does raises the risk of "witch hunting" ... these things can escalate very quickly, alas ! ...

See for instance the comment from @abitcoinskeptic which contains what might be seen as a veiled threat ...

Do you support the centralization of the Steem blockchain?
The proposal to airdrop Hive to people who did with 22.5 failed miserably. Do you think we should give them a free pass to support the firther centralization with 22.8888? A lot of people still have a lot of value on steem (~40% if powerdown started at split) and some devoted Hive people had accounts stolen and frozen. Not to mention all the years of effort we put into that blockchain.

You probably don't want to be on next week's list.

Interesting how your comment illustrates the risk I am talking about in the response to @livinguktaiwan ... "you probably don't want to be on next week's list" could be read as a threat ...
I think people like @justyy, @steemhunt and @steemchiller have done a lot for steem and deserve to be approved witnesses for that chain. Doing that, I honor what they contributed to steem. The whole issue with Justin Sun and the chain split is quite complex in my opinion, I'd rather not judge the above three ONLY by their way of reacting to that. Voting for witness is binary. Removing my vote because I disapprove of them staying with Sun would also mean that all they did for steem BEFORE suddenly is worth zero, it doesn't matter anymore ... I am reluctant to do that

I think people like @justyy, @steemhunt and @steemchiller have done a lot for steem and deserve to be approved witnesses for that chain

I might conditionally agree with you without all of the circumstances of reality in the last couple months. However all three of those accounts are running software that arbitrarily denies legitimate stakeholders the right to use their accounts, while in consensus from a unilateral vote from Sun Yuchen. Furthermore Steemhunt/@tabris denied access to @themarkymark to his legitimately owned HUNT tokens. These are not ethical moves, and I disagree that they deserve any witness vote on Steem.

Though I appreciate his support of Hive, I don't support or agree with @abitcoinskeptic's threat of "next week's list" or anything like that.

I haven't followed the saga very closely but after Ned sold Steemit and its tokens to Sun, my understanding is that the aggression was started by the hive witnesses through the introduction of a fork which denied Justin Sun access to the "ninja stake".
I think the fair play of that initial move is debatable to say the least ... After it happened, things escalated (sock puppets and retaliation). But forking out the ninja mined stake (for which Sun had presumably paid money) was the first "hostility "

It's not a threat, its a suggestion. You are either intentionally supporting 22.8888 or you are not. The blockchain hides no secrets.

Good people can and do support bad things. You are an individual and should behave accordingly.

Basically you are saying you cannot change your mind. That's a stubborn ethics code.

I'm approving of most of what Steemchiller did for steem. I would prefer he doesn't run 0.22.8888, but to do so is his choice, not mine. Even though I disapprove of that particular thing, I reckon it doesn't negate all the other good things he did.

I approve a lot of what he did, too. I supported him up until he moved to 22.8888

to do so is his choice, not mine

How many more accounts should be stolen from Steem updates he supports before you would stop supporting him?

There are lines we don't cross and he gleefully crossed one. He gets paid to do it and he knows exactly what he did which makes his actions shameful and difficult to forgive.

For Justin Sun to appoint someone as a witness, they needed to take a pledge that they wouldn't freeze the funds of a person's account, and that they would protect private property rights.

Each and every one of the witnesses running 22.8888 (many of them are still sock puppet that have been translated to localize to make it appear as if they come from other countries) have broken their pledge. That was a pledge made not just with Justin Sun, but to the entire world, including potential steem investors. It also caught Justin Sun in a act of fraud when he declared that steem funds are "super safu, when 22.8888 had lead to darthknight being locked to powering down his steem to a phishing account that he can't stop.

Coders like to create, it is in their blood. But coders, despite being high IQ, have all sorts of political idealogies or other ideals that are held rigidly and generally they are nurtured into. Most Political ideology and general ideals are, unlike coding, not based upon reality and reason. The political ideologies that are based upon science and reason are being obfuscated in this world as the socialism spectrum, despite all its fallacies, is promoted. Justty and some others are nothing more, in the end, than petty agents of the CCP who took their 30 pieces of silver.
Many very brilliant people who created great products from scratch, often end up voted out of the companies they founded because they are not good businessmen. And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that the witnesses supporting 22.8888 only have their own power and a destructive greed in mind, in fact they don't even care about the product as it falls apart under their watch despite their mantras of trying to make steem great again. What was great about steem has left, and all they have left is rot and decay. Greed can be constructive, and a constructive greed is good for business and all investors. But if you let a product operate purely on fraudulent statements, stealing funds (even through dilution) from shareholders, censoring your users, not only is the product going to lose customers, deter potential customers, and not only are you going to lose stakeholders and value, but it is inviting the strong arm of the law to crack down on all parties involved. The Long arm of US law is notoriously long. It is long overdue for the USDOJ to arrest and prosecute Justin Sun.

Sorry, this post was a little confusing for me. I thought you were asking me to stop voting on Steem for @dev365, which I definitely wasn't doing. I just checked my Steem witnesses and the only one I'm voting for that doesn't have a line through it was Steemhunt from back when they were an incredible dev team. I've stopped voting for them now, hope that helps things.

No worries, I got carried away writing it because I try to be clear, sometimes to a fault. Steemhunt, run by @tabris is unfortunately another witness that caved to moral corruption. Many people in this list are voting for them, and other formerly-legitimate witnesses that caved as well.

Not only that they stole tons of SteemHunt tokens of people who moved to Hive because they control the wallet for them.

Haha, that happens to me at work all the time... I write a whole big thing that is super detailed and clear... and the responses I get back show that people clearly only read the first line.

I hope you run this script again in a week or month. I don't think I should be on it anymore, but happy to be tagged if I am.

Took me a while to figure out which witness was running 0.22.8888 that I was voting for on Steem - turned out to be @crypto.witness

I've unvoted them now :) - they weren't much of a threat anyway, they were sitting at rank 89.

If I've missed any (i.e. I'm still voting for someone running 0.22.8888), just let me know and I'll be sure to remove my vote.

Thanks for taking a look at it

I'm shocked to see my name on here, but as @someguy123 points out, I think its my vote for @crypto.witness...

I'll update my list. Thank you for doing the research and keeping us informed :)

EDIT:
My bad, it was for @justyy... I'm not sure how to feel about that. He's done so much, I'm not sure whether to take this as him 'pretending' to be ethical before, or to take it as him accepting the only way he will be able to make a positive difference in that community is by meeting Sun halfway on stuff...

I'm not sure if I'm going to unvote him because he has earned my vote in the past, and of the top 20 witnesses on Steemit he's the only one I think could make some positive change there. Thank you for pointing this out though. I'll keep doing my own research and figure out his current stances.

He downvoted this post without bothering to even comment, if that means anything to you.

It's beyond personal choice and becomes a matter of real ethics when there is major fraud involved. We DO need to stand together on this. Retweeted. Reblogged. I have DMd some people on this list in case they missed it.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. The one witness running that version was not running that version when I cast my vote, I assure you, and the vote has been rescinded! 🙌

Yep, I suspect that is the case for many if not most of the people who fall within this category. Thank you for taking the time to do that.

Me three, I will check my votes this evening. I am surprised to see my name on the list.

Same here Kitty❤️

Thanks for the warning. I hadn't even realised it. Corrected... and I'm removing the 7 disabled witnesses I'm voting for, as well. 😂

I would encourage any stakeholder on Steem to retain their witness votes for the legitimate, community voted witnesses. Even if they're not producing or disabled.

I'm only making quick posts there while I power down. All my main content goes to the Hive now.

We have votes but really can't know whom to vote for. Trying to stay afloat, I do my best to contribute in excess of what I am offering via writing. However, I consider myself rather ripened and am not entirely familiar with the onionlayer like specifics of the blockchain.
It is challenging enough to spread the message of true consciousness and there is always the option of resignation. But I have a Granddaughter that I love like there are Stars in the Universe. It is for her and my children I keep on keeping to reach people that are lost in an old, no longer functioning paradigm.
Thank You of course for the enlightening information in the first place. It feels good to witness integrity at its best.

... and it's done.

d4i3kz.png

Out of witnesses running 0.22.8888 I was only voting for @steemchiller.
Removed him now.

Well that was interesting! I was shocked to find my name on the list because I had been very careful with my votes. It turns out I had voted for 29 witnesses and 28 of them are now disabled. The one remaining live witness was running 0.22.8888 and I have now un-voted that account. Thanks for the heads up! I only visit Steemit once per week to collect my powerdown.

Not really disabled. Some of them such as @ausbitbank that you were voting for - are running legitimate, non-malicious version v0.22.1 (the latest officially released by Steemit Inc. as you can see on their GitHub), but because malicious "witnesses" who are running v0.22.8888 are blocking legitimate transactions to be included in chain, all honest witnesses on Steem are unable to successfully produce for a long time.

It's shocking what went on over there... but now we have Hive. I have cancelled all my witness votes at this point.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention, steemhunt was the one vote that got me on this list. I changed it & should be good.

Thanks for the heads-up Pfunk 😊
I forgot that I was voting for Steemchiller

Thank you for taking a look

Cheers for this mate, I had some votes loitering about and one of mine had turned so removed all of them just in case others did too.

Ps, I too am not a vegan. :OD

Already solved, I deleted all my votes there. Although the ones with the 0.22.8888 version were Steemchiller and Steemhunt...! Anyway, I'm not more active there, just waiting for my power down :-D

I never really pay much attention to Steem lately. I check and see I have a vote on the Justy guy. This is because we were in the same team years ago on one of the cool projects on Steem. I just click the Unvote anyway. And, you may need to know most of the people you placed on the list simply ignore most things happening on Steem.

@justyy once pretended to be an ethical witness. He was not hesitant to run 0.22.8888 though.

Thank you for the alert! I've changed my votes following the link to Steemd in the post. Thanks and good luck again!

Hello, thanks for this info , i have remove my vote from this witness.
I hope I haven't missed anything else, otherwise just let me know again

Thanks for giving it your time

My bad, was only voting 3 witnesses, 1 was stale, 1 was running v0.0(?!) and the other was steemchiller who I thought was a dude for steemworld and was quite clear in his stance against freezing of accounts from his post one month ago that clearly states:

image.png

Bye bye steem!

No kidding. Pretty ridiculous that he made that post, which then got CENSORED, and then he went and ran that version on his witness anyway. Unethical and hypocritical don't begin to describe him.

Yeah definitely, sometimes wonder if I'm living in a different world when I read this kind of stuff 🤣

I'm going to be pruning the rest of my steem posts today and impatiently wait for the powerdowns to complete. Not going to be posting on there any more either as of now.

Bid bots are rampant, that 100 days of steem is just a cover up for the inevitable port over to some Tron based system, funds are being frozen and only 9 people powered up steem on their new "SPUD" day... wow! Do you know if there's a "right to be forgotten"?

https://steempruner.site/ - See this site, but be careful to have Steem Keychain configured to use api.steemit.com. Made by @engrave, I saw many positive reviews. I'm not using it only because I'm already 100% censored on Steemit site and Steemit Inc. API.

@pfunk @gtg thanks for the tips. I did use @engrave's steempruner site but it still linked that content on Hive and I didn't want plagiarists to get an easy ride if they are looking for stuff to copy (sure they can still go looking if they reaaaaaaally wanted) - so I just went through all 568 posts these last couple of days and replaced everything with a .

I feel slightly dizzy now after doing that manually but it's been quiet at work recently and it's given me something to do 😃

image.png

There is no point removing Hive links as the permalinks are exactly the same. Everyone can just replace the domain to reach the same content on Hive.

Lol, Mmmmm good point, I didn't think of that. Might as well "re-prune" then FFS 🤣 got to laugh hey haha

They certainly are enthusiastic about censoring accounts when they promote Hive. Posting something encouraging all of your followers to join you on Hive would probably be the express lane to being forgotten on Steemit and any other front-end that uses their API.

There are also scripts that you can run which edit all of your historical posts to links to their Hive equivalents. Also seems to be a good way to get censored there. I don't have links off-hand but I can find it if you're interested.

I just checked. I had a vote for chiller. I've eliminated everything. Thanks for the heads-up, Pfunk.

Thank you for checking it

I removed all my votes for this witness and started power down my steempower.

As far as we were notified, the witnesses that you briefly mentioned above has taken down their witness server on Steem and decided to concentrate on development on Hive?

We will double check if our witnesses on Hive are supporting the right witnesses; and as for Steem, we will support those who are developing on that chain.

As far as we understand the chain though began from the same source now has totally different ideology based on platform, vision and direction.

Unless there is a change?

Best regards,
Daily Bread Food Bank

Thanks for taking the time to review your witness votes on Steem and leave a comment here. Some of the illegitimately restricted accounts on Steem were/are witnesses there for a long time, and have moved on to Hive.

It should be noted that some of the sham witnesses on Steem, running 0.22.8888, are contributing to development. Even still, a vote for them is a vote for a centralized, broken, illegitimate blockchain network that censors arbitrary stakeholders from using their own accounts and transferring their own funds.

Done, thanks for the mention

Thanks for giving it your attention

Justin Sun and or his cronies censored 3 of my posts on my @truthforce name from appearing on steemit.com because they criticized him or talked about hive.

Justin Sun is a centralizing bitch.

I set my proxy to Blocktrades on Steem. Just because.

@pfunk Thanks for the reminder, I just removed all the witnesses, please check again, thanks!

Thank you

I am surprised to see me, and others I am sure would not be there on purpose. While I did make diligent efforts to vote only witnesses countering Sun's despotic seizure of Steem while I paid any attention at all to it (meaning before I moved to Hive), apparently some of those witnesses I voted for have stuck their snouts in the gravy train since my departure from Steem.

Since I don't want to vote for anyone like that, I deeply appreciate this head's up. I'd likely never have known of this circumstance without it.

Thanks!

removed @steemchiller, thanks for letting me know @pfunk ... I saw that all the witnesses I was voting for are disabled or "stale" as it's written, does it mean that none of our witnesses have any role anymore on Steem ? I' ve just cancelled all my votes so I would like to be sure, btw I'm kinda surprised (or am I not ?)how people are quick to judge others because their name is on a list... 😊

I was trying to stay neutral about voters in this post but it seems from some comments I could have done better. Thanks for the feedback.

A lot of legitimate Steem witnesses are stale or disabled because their generated blocks that include legitimate transactions from the blocked accounts are being rejected by the 0.22.8888 nodes of the sham witnesses appointed by Sun Yuchen.

so I was wondering if it's ok that I have removed all my votes or if it could be of any help that I vote back some of our historical witnesses...?
you did great and I'm glad you called my attention on this 😉

Steem will need real, legitimate witnesses voted on by whatever Steem stake remains post-exodus if Sun powers down all of his formerly-Stinc accounts. If only to allow people to still sell their remaining STEEM. But at that point, it might not be worth much. Some have removed all of their witness votes on Steem, which seems to be a simpler option.

TL;DR if you are on that list apologize and remove your votes.

I am shocked, saddened and worse unsurprised by your list of people voting for those who continue to support unjustice centralization and tyranny on the Steem blockchain.

Some of these people got their Hive airdrops, then turned around amd voting for junk witnesses om Steem. They either deliberately voted for shame witnesses or didn't care to check. Many are familar enough with Steem to know better. Some didn't simply a abandon steem and are still active on Steem, posting and such.

I must say I do not want to be voting for any posts by individuals on your list om either Hive or Steem. I hope they recognize the errors in their ways, remove their votes from supporters of centralization, apologize and ask for forgiveness from the Hive community.

Many people have moved away from Steem, and a lot of witnesses that people were voting for prior to the 0.22.8888 "hostile soft fork" have shamelessly switched over to 0.22.8888 in hopes of getting a vote from daddy Sun.

I don't think an apology is needed from most people on that list who were simply unaware - not unless they're a whale that's been majorly contributing to 0.22.8888 witness ranking.

Affected users should simply check which 0.22.8888 witnesses they're voting for ( log into SteemPeak - https://steempeak.com/me/witnesses - CTRL-F 8888 ), remove the votes, and reply to this post letting people know that the votes have been removed.

That is true of most users. Asides from whales, I would add some more people case by case who probably owe the community an apology. They got their airdrop, so they don't care.

An apology isn't really necessary IMO. I hope any on this list will review how they vote on a blockchain network, even if Hive split from it, and see if it aligns with their values.

You are right in most cases, removing their votes if they can still login is plenty enough. But, there are a few users on there who probably won't restore their reputation on Hive even with an apology.

Not that I'm speaking for everyone on the list... but both Steemhunt and Steemchiller created fantastic platforms that were honestly really helpful and exciting. I maintained my vote for Steemhunt because the 2 or 3 years of inspiring development outweighed them siding with JSun in my eyes. Then I forgot about Steem when I moved to Hive and wasn't aware of this latest code change until this post. It was more an oversight on my behalf than deliberate support.

I get that people forgot or didn't expect it. It's not too late to change.

Steemworld was great, I didn't expect it. Steemhunt was always a crappy way of exploiting the reward pool ~ Reviews of reviews. Not surprised they ended up scamming everyone.

Don't think there's a need to apologise. When witnesses make statements like this when you vote for them:

image.png

You don't then expect them to do a 180 a month later and start freezing accounts and funds!

Some didn't simply a abandon steem and are still active on Steem, posting and such.

You're still posting and being active on Steem though? So where is the line being drawn here?

TL;DR, is it too much to ask for people on the list to clarify what they are doing still voting for a hostile soft fork?

I do agree my request for apologies isn't necessary from most people on the list. To clarify, I mean people who intentionally voted for 22.8888, or people who knew they were voting for it and didn't care. Not those who were just caught completely off guard.

From a fundamental perspective, 22.8888 is a much worse version of the Steem blockchain than 22.5 and if you voted for that you didn't receive a Hive airdrop. Although I guess now that people have it, they don't care about some of our best Hive developers and most loyal supporter whales losing funds.

I still post on Steem. However, I unvoted all witnesses almost immediately after 22.8888 came out. Certainly, I did it weeks ago. I don't think I'm milking it and I'm trying my best not to antagonize anyone. I feel not voting for any witnesses there means I'm staying completely out of governance. My Steem Power enables me to vote.

Some people on the list are unclear on what side they are on. Do they agree that these people should have funds stolen? Do they like their votes being used for the centralization of blockchains? Do they want to further antagonize the situation?

TL;DR, is it too much to ask for people on the list to clarify what they are doing still voting for a hostile soft fork?

I think a lot were caught off guard (myself included) with the sudden, unannounced U-turn from steemchiller on that list so a little unfair to tarnish us all with the same brush in your original comment. For those who are aware then only they can tell you and it's up to you if you believe them.

I've removed all witness votes I had on Steem now after this post - I was only voting 2 other witnesses, one was running v0.0 (?) and the other was disabled so no more pitchforks needed here 😃

they don't care about some of our best Hive developers and most loyal supporter whales losing funds.

I can't comment on others but if people speak out on Steem then they are going to get shut down and I've seen threats of people having their accounts frozen by witnesses and people supported with steemit stake so understandable that no-one is being vocal.

I still post on Steem

I have to disagree with this stance though. If you're still posting on steem then you are indirectly supporting the platform you are insinuating you hate by giving it transactions (posts, replies to comments, comments etc) to use for its marketing purposes. It may not be a lot of posting, sure, but everyone else who is anti-steem is still posting over there and in my opinion, should just focus on posting Hive.

Some people on the list are unclear on what side they are on.

I was one of those when all this happened 2-3 months ago and prefer seeing things objectively for myself to find out what was going on. It's hard to keep on top of things and stay in the loop given that there was a global pandemic and life changing situation happening outside of Steem/Hive (even other offline activities are enough for casual users).

After two months of using both sites and finding out more information, I've just spent the best part of two days pruning my Steem profile (every post is now just a .) and all I'm doing is waiting for powerdown to complete and I'll be done with Steem.

Do they agree that these people should have funds stolen? Do they like their votes being used for the centralization of blockchains? Do they want to further antagonize the situation?

I can't answer for them, you'll have to reach out individually.

I agree with most of what you said here. Trying to provike people to change is my strategy given the fork is over a month old now.

You are right about an individual approach. I suppose a new list should be generated after payout of this one. People on the next list will probably be contacted individually.

I disagree about still using Steem. A lot of people still have a lot of value on Steem. Most of us are only just over half way through our powerdown period. Do we really want to see value evaporate?
I'm sure you and everyone else still cares about the value of Steem while they are selling it. If witness voting drops, no one will care. If user activity (posts votes comments) drops, this could affect the price. Our community stands to lose millions of dollar which could be used to buy Hive or whatever.
We should definitely be civil, but we shouldbcare a out Steem (price) until mid to late June.

Thanks for the tag as I totally forgot about removing my vote on the other site. I did though leave the legit ones with the correct version as my votes for them won't change. Also thanks to those who reached out to me on discord and telegram I'm on the list :)

Thank you for giving it your attention.

didn’t realize i gave a rats behind about what was going on with steem these days. and supported hive 100000%

i’ll have to log back in and check who i voted for. i am certain it was all hive witnesses tho.

Many in this list are voting for formerly-legitimate witnesses such as @steemchiller and @justyy, who both have become turncoats against the legitimacy of Steem by running 0.22.8888.

This is why I'm not presenting this list as a group of people to be upset with, but as a group of people who could use a ping to review their Steem witness voting. It may be trivial. It will not counter Sun's centralizing vote, but the less votes these sham witnesses get from legitimate Steem stakeholders, the better.

Was voting for turncoats :(

Gotcha...Thanks for the notice. Looks like I had Steemchiller still voted.

Removed the vote. Sad about that guy too, did a lot with Steemworld. Would have been a huge asset for HIVE :(

Agreed.

I've unvoted all my Steem witnesses. The good guys all quit anyway. The Steemit official curation account is zeroing out my posts and comments even if they are not being nasty to them. I am not even retaliating or downvoting anyone else. The abuse their is up to them to sort out. How can I be a threat to them with so little SP? The sooner I can power down the better.

Thanks for the heads up. I will be checking on my votes and update them accordingly.

And you OPINION matters, why?

ANY Witness I am voting for 'on the other platform' changed the version AFTER I voted for them. Any steem witness on steem is either required to run the latest, or is at least strongly suggested. If you don't play on the 'other platform' I suggest you don't concern yourself with others that do.

Now tell me if there is anything wrong with my thinking, in your opinion. Some of us are orchestrating an orderly withdrawal, using our own observations and opinions and not jumping to conclusions. FWIW.

You have only part of the story I think. Steem witnesses do not need to run any soft fork in order to add a block when scheduled. Software/version upgrades are only required for hard forks. However, the illegitimate 0.22.8888 nodes are rejecting valid blocks signed by legitimate witnesses for including transactions from the accounts that are being arbitrarily censored.

I have stake on Steem and therefore it is my concern. Also, I still have a spot on the backup witness list there.

I'm a witness here, too. I want Hive users to be notified of their witness votes there so that they vote in line with their own ethical compass. I also wish for Hive witness voters to understand that witness voting is a responsibility as well as a right. Irresponsible and uninformed voting led to a failure of the Steem community to defend itself against an attack from Sun. Although that possibility is significantly less on Hive, it's one part of Steem's failure that I aim to help correct on Hive.

👍

These are good answers. You are correct, I (apparently) had only a part of the story. I have also done some background checking on you, my friend, and I've been here a long time. Just had my 3 year burfday (5/11) and I have a habit of checking out sources like this. I am considering a witness vote for you, this is well handled.

One might look at my account and say 'big deal he's not even a Dolphin' but that is deceiving. In fact I am getting close to 20k HP if you consider the "SPI" that I hold, and being one of the top 2 in that arena, we have a lot of say in where that voting power goes. It's an account as big as the Pfunk, pretty much. We are also having a discussion very soon on witness votes. We supported the REAL Top 20 on steem, which was successful for time. I think we carried that over to HIVE but a review is forthcoming, I personally am gunning hard to remove at least 2 of the former steem top 20, because in my view they represent a lot of what was the crybaby bunch on steem. You are not among those, and I will seek to have my choices included into the witness votes of the Spinvest Community Fund. It was 83,000 SP on the old platform. Might move a witness up a notch or two 😉👍💪

I appreciate all votes no matter the stake. I think all witnesses do. Small adds up to big.

Forgive me for peering at your account's wallet but most people wouldn't hold an online account worth about $500 so that's a significant investment in Hive already.

As I said, most of my hodlings re in Spinvest Tokens, and collectively we have a LOT.
I'm top hodler, at 15% give or take. I'm going to remove support for the 0.22.888 muther-forkers after I take care of some business.

FWIW, usually a post "like this" was a foreshadowing of major flagging actions, with very little notice. I have seen no threats here, either spoken, written or implied, which is very good. Just a notice of how certain remainders on steem have chosen to go totally to the Dark Side LOL

I will also review if any of those are here.

I didn't care about my Steem Account anymore apart from the powerdown and changing my profile image, but I had a vote for Steemchiller, that's right.
I have updated my votes, thanks a lot for letting me know.

I have removed all the witnesses i was voting for, from my list. I hope there's no issue now.

Removed all. Please check

As a user listed above, I have since removed all witness votes for individuals in conflict with the basic principles of open governance. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Didn't expect @steemchiller to join them. Specially after he posted against this version and calling Sun Yuchen "a child". Just removed ALL witnesses from my account on Steem.

This just proves again the necessity for a Vote Expiration as I stated many times.

Important things to be considered regarding vulnerabilities on Hive Blockchain.

Thanks for the heads-up @pfunk, I have to admit that I hadn't checked my witness votes since we were trying to defend decentralization on Steem. I think I was triggered for this list by my vote for Steemchiller, whose work with SteemWorld I always appreciated and used.

Anyway, I have removed all witness votes on Steem.

=^..^=

Thank you for taking a look

@pfunk I will unvote everyone, please remove me from this list ! I defended our witnesses when we had the takeover, created enough to defend steem in twitter and in steemit, you can check my posts. I voted for them just because I still have there power and I'm afraid that they will freeze it and freeze @dcooperation the account I worked for 2 years to power up all the earning ! I will unvote them all, but I think you should create a fund to support those who will be frozen after unvoting ! Our witnesses could give us at least 13 weeks to power down everything and I'm doing so. I'm willing also to power down @dcooperation and convert all steem there to hive ! Please remove me from the list, I don't need trouble here !

https://steemd.com/@clixmoney Check that @pfunk I will check the list again ! Please remove me !

Also I want to let you know that I created a new community in hive. It's a community to learn English and I called it Hive English Club. Here is the link : https://hive.blog/trending/hive-181389

As you see, I'm not willing to build in steem. I just voted to protect my stake, but now I just don't care. Enough drama.

I am hesitant to edit this post as I think it will result in everyone listed receiving notifications again. Once was enough.

Don't worry about being mentioned though. I appreciate that you've gone agnostic on Steem. Furthermore I don't believe the illegitimate witnesses of Steem would freeze you or most Steem accounts, even if they've moved to Hive. They may be interested in freezing more of the real witnesses of Steem, those who have moved on to Hive, however. Time will tell.

I hope people in this list will not be downvoted automatically by some people from hive ! You are putting us all in danger. And there are a lot of people who edited their votes. I think it's ok if everybody else will be tagged if they didn't remove their vote. It will be a great reminder for them and people who unvoted will not have trouble.

sorry, I'm only a user on both blockchain-based social media. and now, i am more active in hive. previously I only used the proxy @blocktrades as my witness in steem, but after steem And hive separated I only chose one witness in steem which is INDO.WITNESSES. because I think if I don't choose one witness the steem then my account on steem will die and can't be used in hive. & nbsp; That is the reason why I chose it. And if it affects the hive. Then I will delete it now.

Many accounts on both Hive and Steem do not vote for witnesses, and their accounts remain. This is part of the design of the network. Witness voting is not mandatory, but encouraged for informed stakeholders.

Thank you for the heads up, it seams i was voting for one of those i think, and hive removed my vote now...

I'm surprised to so many names that i recognise though I have to admit I am not surprised by many of them. Will you do an update list next week as I would like to see if I need to reassess my support for people on Hive?

Thanks for pulling this together

This is inline with my thoughts, too. Those left next week, especially if active on both platforms have some explaining to do.

TBH it's their prerogative if they want to continue vote for the sock puppet witness,it's a free world here. They just have to accept whatever consequences that come with it. Can't help them with that.

Right. Some people are upset with how it was brought up..."I didnt know, therefore I did nothing wrong." A scary mentality. People should unvote as they become aware and move on. Thank, don't shoot the messenger.

I feel it is still worth being decent in this Steem-Hive relationship, especially while people are still only on week 8 or so of powerdown. It is in no one's interest to intentiinally crash the value of Steem or pick a fight.
My plan was to powerdown and leave peacefully.
In the meantime, supporting 22.8888 now is arguably worse than supporting 22.5 was, unless that is you think all those accounts should be frozen on Hive (or don't care).

If not mistaken those names were listed on who decided to stay on Steem didn't get hive airdrops were also listed there.

If we really want a legit clean list of accounts who both obtained airdrop and also still (intentionally / accidentally) still voting witnesses that curb to JS tyranny rule (for whatever reason that may be), then @pfunk would need a closer time to skim through when time is permitted.

Sorry, I saw my name here, but I'm not active in steemit for a long time, and I'm doing my power down. So I'm making it clear that I'm not active there, because I see my name there, and you can verify that I'm not active anymore.

Alright. You can still adjust your witness votes on Steem if you like. The intention of this post is not to witch hunt, but to alert Hive users that they are voting for illegitimate witnesses that are doing shameful things on Steem.

I think Steemit has been dead for a long time. As soon as I can verify what you report and take everything away, but since I'm not active there, Hive became my home, anyway thanks for the warning.

We have removed our one vote that was on 0.22.8888 .
Although this was not intended to be a witch hunt. We are very sad to see some see this list otherwise.

Best regards,
Daily Bread Food Bank

It s done i removed all my witness!!!

Nice I am not on the list. I guess my witness votes are in the right place still.

Who are the sham witnesses that you want us to remove our vote on? I mean I don't even use Steemit or Hive as much as I used to after all the hullabaloo. Everyone fighting about money and community and all that. Now it's split into two and heck I'm just here to write and share stuff. I'm so done with all the drama.

Anyone running 0.22.8888

Care to list them like you tagged us all?

You can see here, any of these running 0.22.8888. https://steempeak.com/witnesses

Okay, out of the list only @steemhunt is the witness I voted that's running that. Have you talked to them about your concern? Or have you discussed anything with everyone still on the list?

I've talked to some of them. Clearly none are interested in doing the right thing because they're still running this illegitimate version which arbitrarily selects certain Steem stakeholder accounts to deny transactions from.

Additionally, @tabris of Steemhunt denied @themarkymark his HUNT tokens which he owned, purely out of spite. The people that sucked up to Sun Yuchen for a witness vote on Steem have become not much more than corrupt leeches.

Hmmm... I see.

Do we still care for steem?? Oo

To the degree that many of us still have stake there, and some of it is being frozen, a mild yes. However, I care much more for Hive, and if these people who are using it while simultaneously voting for illegitimate witnesses elsewhere don't get some feedback, they may not understand what's at stake.

I am powering down and running to Hive as fast as possible :p
I will go to steemit later or tomorrow and remove my votes tho

I read it for few times and honestly dont understand, seems like my brain is empty 😭😭😭 so like, did i do something wrong?

No you have not done anything wrong. It's just that some of the witnesses on Steem have revealed themselves to be corrupt enough to callously restrict certain stakeholders from using their accounts. That is not in line with the values of Hive, so I am pinging those voting for these witnesses on Steem to review them.

Thanks, good to know! I deleted all my votes. Only @steemchiller was still on my list with 0.22.8888.

1.I never voted for any sockpuppets. But example i do like the work of steemchiller.
2.Also i am powering down on steem.
3.I disagree to freez anybodys account but my steem power even doesnt matter.
4.even if all the accounts will unvote i bet it doesnt make any change, thats why we are here on hive as far as i remember.

I like the work of steemchiller as well, but sadly he has opted to run an illegitimate version of Steem in order to collect witness rewards. His mind is talented, Steemworld proves that, but money is more important than doing the right thing to him, it seems.

I am not a vegan. I dont understand them why they are like that, but it doesnt mean that they are bad.
I mean he have a different opinion about this but i dont want to judge him.
I never saw him in the top 20 before and i dont think he get a lot of support before even he deserve it.
So now while i am powering down i think it doesnt matter if i leave my vote on him or not.

But i do feel myself bad that i am here on this list even i think i didnt done nothing bad.

Even here i didnt agree with some witnesses but i do vote for them.
And our witnesses was in the top 20 so they earned and they earn even now.

So again i wanna make it clear i didnt agree with they action on steem but it is doesnt matter because in the past years i think steemchiller made a really good work.

( thats why we have also here beeme.icu as far as i know )

I am not claiming you or anyone else on this list have done something bad.* This is a ping to you and others who use Hive about votes for corrupt witnesses on Steem.

*besides the few who are illegitimate Steem witnesses running 0.22.8888

By the way just checked i removed one vote that was steemhunt.
But i left there one for steemchiller.
I am sorry for that if i will be blacklisted here it is okay. Anyway it will doesnt make any difference for me because i dont post often and even that time nobody dont mind my posts.

And also few more weeks and my power down will be finish.

I just hope that in the future hive can onboard the masses and we dont need to mind these kind of situations.

You won't be blacklisted, this isn't a witch hunt. Sorry if it's come off that way to you.

Hopefully.
Because i am planning to stay on hive. But because one wrong move i dont want to remove the vote from steemchiller.
We can never know anyway if he change his mind in the future and will join us on hive.

Also this all steem-hive situation. There are still some project there which one the people like. And i know it is not easy and of course if my stake will be frozen ( if i have a big stake ) i will be also angry.

But we made decissions and there should be not lists like this.
Some people decided that they will stay on both chains as far as i know. That is they decission and if we dont want to became like JS than we should respect it or we will be same like he is.

But now many of the users they can feel on this list that if they dont remove they vote they will be less here.

By the way this is just my opinion. Everyone is free to do what they want. Just i thought i will make it clear how are my thoughs about this.

I don't think so, I know him as a highly intelligent, deep and far-thinking person, but also as an honest and persistent person. I asked him about it, his detailed answer (in German) is interesting and testifies to deep insights and well-founded judgments.

But he wrote that the issue at 0.22.8888 is far too complex to be exhaustively described in a comment. The most important questions for me are:

  • Who started this no-go to freeze accounts?
  • What are the exact reasons for the current freeze?
  • Is Sun together with his advisors really stupid enough to burn his investment?

Anyone trying to equate the freezing of Stinc accounts by the community witnesses due to a lack of clear and direct communication from Sun to this group of centrally voted, sham witnesses freezing the accounts of people they arbitrarily decided should not be able to use their well-earned stake in Steem is being disingenous, whether they know it or not.

You can ask the people that implemented 0.22.8888 their reasoning, but it's hard to trust something that comes out of the mouth of an unethical person with every reason to spout lies that absolves them of responsibility or guilt. Privately, with those affected, they've been more forthcoming about it being about spite and hostage-taking for a Hive airdrop they explicitly did not earn.

When's the last time Sun Yuchen showed any public interest in Steem? He even went so far as to go back and delete all of his tweets about acquiring Steemit and his subsequent dealings with Steem.

I think he's written it off and uses it as a thing to play with if his corrupt hand touches it at all. He definitely does not seem interested in spending much resources to improve it, that is evident in this statement:

For the 100 Days project we are looking more for quick fixes and clever ideas that won’t need too much resourcing.

Thank you for your interesting detailed answer! I will take a closer look to the 100 days project.

Regarding the 100 days of Steem, you're not missing anything but a lame, half-assed attempt by an incompetent failure of a PR person to hold some semblance of an ignorant community together by giving out free candy. They'll retain the people that think like children. We'll see how well that goes.
