Achieved 25% of my Hive Power Goal and working towards my other future goals.
A few days ago, I achieved my Hive milestone of 37K Hive power and today I have achieved 37500 HP. Actually, it is not the addition of any 1000 HP, after which I keep track of milestones. So, how is this addition of 500 HP special and a milestone, even though it is not the addition of 1000 HP from the previous milestone?
Actually, 37500 HP exactly marks 25% completion of my end Hive goal of 150K HP. Though my goal still looks far as of now but who knows if it can complete soon, especially when Khal is talking about $350+ per LEO and I really have thousands of LEO. Anyways, leaving the "very soon" quote, I will like to perform some realistic calculations and find the timelines that how much time it will took to reach my goal if I go for conservative timelines.
At present, curation APR is still above 8% and staking APR is above 3%. Though total is 11% but assuming there can be further dip in curation rewards, so take this total as 10%.
Now we are trying to find out how much time it will take to become 4x if it is compounded 10% annually.
Rule of 144
To find this we can use The compound interest formula as A=P(1+r/n)nt , where (A) is the final amount, (P) is the principal, (r) is the annual interest rate (as a decimal), (n) is the number of times interest is compounded per year, and (t) is the number of years.
Now this is tough calculation to do as it involves "exponential" power. Simpler is to use rule of 144 which simply states that the time required for an investment to quadruple can be found by dividing 144 by the interest rate.
In our case, Interest rate is 10, therefore the time period is 144/10=14.4 years.
Interestingly, there are extensions and other variants of the rules as follows.
Rule of 114
The rule of 114 states that the time required for an investment to triple can be found by dividing 114 by the interest rate.
Rule of 72
The rule of 72 states that the time required for an investment to double can be found by dividing 72 by the interest rate.
Applying the Rule of 72 twice give the same results as Rule of 144.
My asset mobilization and action will help me reach much earlier.
Calculation of 14.4 years is purely based on interest obtained on Hive Power. I have other assets and income in Hive that I am planning to convert in Hive in the coming time. Recently, I have sold DEC and LEO to fund my Hive power. On top of it, my Author income in Hive will also be additional to the above 10% yearly growth.
I have already amassed more than 400K+ SPS against my target of 300K+ plus. I am still accumulating SPS and if I feel SPS is getting fair price then I can convert the additional SPS to HP to fuel the growth.
Only Hive-Engine/Play2earn goal currently.
I have already accomplished my GLX and SPS goal and only goal I am left is the accumulation of COLONY token that I earn by playing Moonkart's game. Also , Arcadecolony is releasing Primepick, where my existing stake GLX might help in earning more GLX. Currently, staking GLX and SPS , further give airdrop of COLONY tokens, so I am automatically progressing on my COLONY token goals daily.
