$369.49 downvotes are a thing now on Steem | Will Steemit start upvoting DTube and CN posts?

The Steem(it) reality is changing quickly. Yesterday I already mentioned the Top 20 Witnesses now being fully controlled by sock puppets or 'community' witnesses running 0.22.5. This was only hours after Steemit decided to start removing Hive posts from their frontend.

What's the news today you might wonder?

Well, both people and projects like @tarazkp, @steemitworldmap, @andrarch (lol, his post was already 8 days old :D), @lordbutterfly, @roelandp, @hiveio, @probit, @ionomy and @lukestokes were downvoted at the full 100% with 'Steemit' stake worth $369.49 just a few hours ago.

If Steemit stake starts voting (both up or down) the whole reward pool will have to severely rebalance as all balance and thus rewards and payouts have for years been based upon that stake not influencing the reward pool.

Another interesting fact?

During the same downvote round the Steemit account started subscribing to two Hive (lol) communities: DTube and the Steem CN community.

Does this hint at a possible start of 'curating' by the Steemit account overall?

I guess refreshing steemd.com and steemworld.org for the next few days and weeks will tell us.

I'm equally horrified and amused.

Sort:

Lol Sun has gone into Maniac mode. He is probably seeing things from a different angle. I am equally excited to know, how he is choosing his victims lol but he is giving us a good reason that we did the right thing forking.

For now it seems everyone involved in promoting/creating Hive is attacked :-) We'll see how it evolves!

Justin is our best ally right now. He's making the case for the fork! I say we celebrate

Yes indeed he is. Every day he adds another argument for us. I want to celebrate but I feel no joy in seeing Steem being torn into pieces like this.

It's like watching the house you grew up in burn down. Even though you have a new house, it's still sad to watch.

Exactly that. I'm sad everytime I see Steem taking a step backward. I feel no joy in it, even though our new house seems to be very pretty and comfortable so far.

Right? At first a fork sounded like a terrible idea but the worse he got, the more realistic it sounded until it was just common sense. We very easily could have been split but he messed that up

At this point, it's really mind-boggling that anyone wants to have anything remotely to do with steem. It's embarrassing to watch really. The blockchain right now has no goal other than to censor and fight community members. Sad

For now it looks that way indeed. There will be a group of people who make it into their 'home' again though.

LOL I thought he doesn’t believe in downvotes and wanted to remove them! Oh now it’s suddenly convenient

Hahahaha. Indeed. I guess he changed his mind ;-)

It is horrifying, and the best publicity we could have.

It also suggests Justin hasn't noticed the slider yet. A 5% DV would have done it!

Lol! Indeed! On the other hand he used exactly 10 downvotes, so maybe he knows after that he has to recharge? :D

I still hold to the idea that he's sleep deprived and needs a hug.

Ahahahaha. Let's all hug him <3

That's a lot of downvote power, good thing it doesn't steel your SP.

Indeed - and on the 8 day old post he didn't even manage to bring it down to zero ;-)

It's getting from funny to really sad very quickly. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind getting that upvote.

Lol. No-one would I guess :D It's a great story to tell.

He should just go to his escape pod and jet off to his private island to chill out. He lost this battle.

Well, I'm thinking... He will have a loyal following anyway, so not sure if he sees it as losing. As long as people are willing to stay on Steem and ignore the centralization... But yeah. I don't think he knows what he lost in terms of community but also technical knowledge.

Maybe the Tron loyal will congregate on Steem in future. Justin has 2 million Twitter followers. Those could make Steem more active than it was. We shall see.

Well, all I saw was that Tron users were saying 'oh cool a social media site let's wait till it's ported to Tron so we can start using it' - so yeah, that's how they looked at that. At least from what I gathered :D

Sadly this is not surprising. Justin Sun is amazing when you think about it. He is doing EVERYTHING he said he would not do.

That is a tough one to pull off.

Lol - yes, you might consider that a skill :D

insanity is a scary thing. But at least this is a great advertisement for Hive.

It's almost like he's helping us make our case, isn't it? :-)

I can't wait to see if they manage to deploy their own hard fork so we can all power down instantly and dump.

Well, in the initial plans he wanted that instant powerdown only for his own accounts and the exchanges. So if he holds on to that we wouldn't even be able to partake in the 'quick dump'.

Being POSH on twitter:

JS could sure use some more ZEN>
I would be willing to help him out with that but I won't sell my soul ;>)

Hahaha. He needs some meditation course for sure!

It may take awhile for things to settle out on both sides, I am guessing most of us that moved over are for a more worldly melting pot of community, and Justin see's his world through his cultural and limited cultural view than most of us. I like learning about the world cultures and differences, about the different styles peoples have, and the different view points people have, not to mention all the wonderful pictures people take and share of their home area.

We are about building, not tearing down. I think people outside will take note of that, and that will be the draw more so than the get rich quick ideas.

Day one was a lot of fun.

I think people outside will take note of that

This, exactly. I think people noticed so far. It wasn't bad for 'our name' in any way, many people heard an learned about us, and even applauded us.

what did ionomy do

They announced HIVE listing ;-)

Aye, the new Captain JS Bligh goes down with his 'blockchain'.

poor little spoilt brat, buys a toy, doesn't now how to play with it and don't care if he trashes it just because he can

LOL! Pretty much the whole story indeed :')

This whole thing is absurd. The amount of work they are going to have to do to keep up with us is more than it would have taken to build a competitor and they’re reputation hasn’t improved from where it was. Be thankful it’s been this bad. It made it an easy choice

Oh wow. I should first read my feed before posting, I was just writing about how sad and desperate our former home now looks like and I didn´t even know about this...

R.I.P. Steem, Long Live Hive

RIP Steem indeed :-(

And they also support their "friends" with this kind of upvotes ... rediculous!
