Coffee Break?.
The Building, equipment, ingredients, cutlery, energy costs, insurance, staff, staff insurance. (Bearing in mind, now is not a great time to open a coffee shop with lockdowns. Coffee shop is merely used as an example.)
Just thinking about that. All the things needed. That alone might set you off. How many cups of coffee is that before you even break even.
This is all in line with thoughts for the benefit of the tokens on the Hive blockchain.
A coffee shop would be a great place to start facilitating HBD as a currency. On the surface it might appear that way. Anyone undertaking a venture like this. Should be aware that a subsidising support system would be needed short and for long term dry spells.
There are too many short fall factors to consider when beginning a coffee shop. The structure to support a coffee shop or multiple coffee shops is what is needed before the coffee shop.
That is the place I would like to take the Hive blockchain tokens. Physical world industry creating the demand for Hive tokens. There are guidelines a project like this should work under and not vary from.
No. I have not even looked into the costs of setting up a coffee shop. Besides the building, cups coffee and a kettle, is all you need.
Yes a bit more than that is needed, the fancy stuff for making fancy coffee will be needed. Dish washer, counters, tables, displays and other miscellaneous items are also needed.
Think of something like this as a hive venture. A place the blockchain can go, not an individual.
The coffee shop itself is not there to create great profits for the coffee shop. The coffee shop reaching a balance of breaking even is all that is needed.
From this first coffee shop we build and establish our own standards. These standards should be high and any future franchise of the coffee shop brand would have to adhere to. Instead of Starbuck's, we could have Hivebuck's. The world could have Hivebuck's coffee or tokens.
All a bit distant as yet, possibility's unexplored.
The last thing I want is for some big Corp to come along and take everything over. Building a structure to help prevent that is part of an ambition I would like to see taken up by all users of the blockchain. An assurance to independence. If we do not build the structures for Hive to begin in. We lose the independence it presently holds.
We can see with the efforts to stabilise the value of HBD, that some might actually want to see a currency come about from HBD. Going about it assways though. You can write all the code you want, it only has value if used. The same goes for a currency, you need to be able to use it.
Take a look at what has been done, much more than I am aware of I bet.
Some have done well gained a great deal of HP and liquid HIVE. Some have gone on to begin projects using the funds gained from the blockchain. Offering goods for sale in some cases. I have not seen those goods on sale for HBD though.
Expecting you to turn your HBD to USD so you can buy some Hive merchandise. Is that some kind of joke?
I have said for 3 years now to start making or bringing about a currency for HBD. Falls on deaf ears all the time. Idea's ignored because of who they come from. That or, powers that be have tunnel vision and refuse to let any other opinion in or have a chance, unless it is in their total control. The latter appearing to be more likely.
Returns for investment do not always come as a financial reward because a transaction was done. With an investment, (of the sort I am thinking) there are more ways to gain than just an immediate profit from the sale/renting of an item.
HBD being able to act that part as a monetary value exchange tool. This would bring advantages to Hive that other chain omit to see. Too much focus is placed on the wealth side of things and very little on the functional.
Code keeps getting wrote. HF's keep happening. Total reliance on a digital world. Well, just try eating digital food. I don't think you will get far with that.
