There are many ways to make money on Hive. Some better than others.
Posting
Can be worthwhile for some but not for majority.
Curation
With a significant investment can be profitable, but not for everyone.
Investments
Can be done by anyone and are the most profitable DONE RIGHT
Steem-engine and hive-engine have endless amounts of tokens.
Majority are shit.
A small percentage are awesome.
Tribe tokens
After investing in 90% of tribe tokens its clear if you get in early you make money, however if you get in late then watch your it slowly but surely head downhill.

@spinvest has just hit it's 1 year anniversary and personally I have done well as I was amongst the first to invest.
Average cost per token was 0.9 current selling at 3 (actual value 1.9) due to a weekly dividend payout investors are hodling and the price will keep slowly increasing.
So for me still worth buying and holding long term
HBT
Hivebuilder has just launched. Similar to SPI but returns could outperform.
It has a lot of the same mechanics but with some cool income streams and buybacks.

Simply buy the token at 1 hive and place on market to sell up to 5 hive.
After buying the token at 1 hive and selling 0.3 tokens at 5 hive it shows it is capable of producing some eyewatering returns.
So you bought 100 vote tokens for 100 hive and sold 0.3 at 5 hive???
Yeah sounds a bit dumb, but that was the first ever sold tokens and the first buyback.
As more tokens are sold and the income from token sales is invested and then returns start flooding in, this token will be amazing.
Only 100 are sold daily to keep Circulating supply Low until the buybacks really kick in.
This is the time to stock up and hodl.
Unlike other tokens in which you have to get in early or otherwise the price history looks like a pyramid(mostly because they are)
HBT is at 1 hive and remains at 1 hive.
The advantage to early investors is competitions and airdrops where you can pick up more tokens
Aim of the game get in early and reap the rewards.

I bought some spi awhile back but sold it because I couldn't figure what it was about at the time.
Spi has had its main pump due to the free hive airdrop. Now you get weekly divs and wouldn't expect it to pump anywhere near the same rate. If your in for the long haul work keeping some as they are backed by hp and go up slowly over time. Possibly could go down but highly unlikely. HBT could and should grow alot quicker
