For those who missed the initial announcements posts, we have a new game on Hive, called Exode. It is a "collectible strategy game", or with different words, a space colonization game based on collectible cards.
The game is not playable yet, but so far I love everything about it. The plot is built around the idea from the Battlestar Galactica movie, the card system is similar with the one in Splinterlands, graphics is appealing, the development team is passionate about it, and the presale comes with interesting bonuses.
The plot: mankind was wiped out on a galactic scale, players are using their cards to organize a hopeless mission into exode (the starter kit gives you the basics for the evacuation mission, and cards from booster packs can give you an advantage) trying to escape the alien attack and to discover and settle a new colony, where to survive the upcoming attacks.
The cards: the cards are fully transferable digital assets (except the very few promotional cards that are linked to the accounts). They follow a rarity system similar to Splinterlands (commons, rares, epics and legendaries, with a 2% chance for each card to have gold foil), and they are never lost (not even when you are defeated).
Seven cards are special - they are called Origins - and gives you the plans for the evacuation mission (three of the Origin cards are part of the three starter kits). All other cards will increase you chances of success (ships, crew, officers, equipment, resource crates, legendary contracts). The Origin cards can level up, either by playing or by stacking them with similar cards.
My stake: I'm one of the first players that bought a starter kit (actually, I bought the three packs). To spice my experience a little more, I also went for the big Syndicate Sponsorship (wich gives you 3 drops per week, with high chances of being unique epic drops). The game offers a referral system, awarding both the referral and the referee with two free boosters per person and bonus epic cards: referral link.
