In Spanish we have a saying that translated would say: 'when the poor man washes, it rains' With the experience I had today with the car, it was the first thing that came to my mind, it was a mixture of misdiagnosis, overconfidence, along with bad spare parts, that in other conditions I would face it without problems, but this time it was a hard blow.
It turns out that a few days ago began to sound again one of the front wheels, with the sound type of a bearing that begins to be damaged, for those who know this sound, at first it may be imperceptible, but with use is increasing over time, until it becomes a very loud sound if we don't change it.
In my case I started to hear it very slightly, but as I wasn't economically prepared when I detected it, I continued using the car like this, until I had the availability to replace it. I already knew that I had to do it, because 6 months ago I had changed the front bearing on the passenger side, and I knew that soon I would have to change the one on the driver's side, because both bearings were the original ones that the car came from the factory with.
-Conocen el dicho: ¿cuándo el pobre lava, llueve? Con la experiencia que tuve hoy con el carro, fue lo primero que vino a mi mente, fue una mezcla de equivocación en el diagnostico, exceso de confianza, junto a malos repuestos, que en otras condiciones lo enfrentaría sin problemas, pero esta vez si fue un golpe duro.
-Resulta que hace algunos días empezó a sonar nuevamente una de las ruedas delanteras, con el sonido tipo de un rodamiento que empieza a dañarse, para quienes conocen este sonido, al principio puede ser imperceptible, pero con el uso va aumentando con el tiempo, hasta llegar a ser un sonido ensordecedor si no lo cambiamos.
-En mi caso lo empecé a escuchar muy levemente, pero como no estaba económicamente preparado cuando lo detecté, continue utilizando el carro así, hasta tener la disponibilidad de poder reemplazarlo. Ya sabia que debía hacerlo, pues hace 6 meses había cambiado el rodamiento delantero del lado del copiloto, y sabía que pronto tendría que cambiar el del lado del conductor, porque ambos rodamientos eran los originales con los que el carro vino de fábrica.
That time I felt fortunate to have gotten a good brand of bearing as a replacement, the Japanese brand Koyo, at a price that seemed quite economical, only $ 20 USD, so I thought on that occasion that when I set out to change the other front bearing, no doubt I would buy the same, thinking of placing a replacement with the price - quality ratio.
The day came when I finally had the money to do the job, I was already a little worried because the sound was very loud, just reached 50 km / h and began to sound, fearing that at any moment I would have an accident because of the locked wheel. Who knows about this type of problem, will agree with me that this is a priority repair over others, all are important, but this one can put your life at risk if you do not execute it.
My main problem is the economic one, these days financially have not been good, even for those of us who rely on Hive economically apart from our other work activities, the price of the currency is in time to invest. So I was debating between buying a rubber that also urges me or buying and installing the bearing, obviously deciding for what I consider more urgent, but you will see how things did not go as expected.
-Aquella vez me sentí afortunado de haber conseguido una buena marca de rodamiento como reemplazo, la marca japonesa Koyo, a un precio que me pareció bastante económico, solo 20$ USD, así que pensé en aquella ocasión que cuando me dispusiera a cambiar el otro rodamiento delantero, sin duda compraría el mismo, pensando en colocar un repuesto con la relación precio – calidad.
-Llego el día que por fin complete el dinero para poder hacer el trabajo, ya estaba un tanto preocupado porque el sonido era muy fuerte, apenas alcanzaba los 50 km/h y comenzaba a sonar, temiendo que en cualquier momento me accidentaria por la rueda trancada. Quien sabe sobre este tipo de problema, coincidirá conmigo que esta es una reparación de prioridad sobre otras, todas son importantes, pero esta puede poner tu vida en riesgo si no al ejecutas.
-Mi principal problema es el económico, estos días financieramente no han sido buenos, incluso para quienes nos apoyamos en Hive económicamente aparte de nuestras otras actividades laborales, el precio de la moneda está en época para invertir. Así que me debatía entre comprar un caucho que también me urge o comprar e instalar el rodamiento, obviamente decidiendo por lo que considere mas urgente, pero ya verán como las cosas no salieron como esperaba.
I buy the spare part, I take the car to my friend the mechanic who told me that he would only charge me 10 $ USD in order to help me, because he knows that I am measured with money and also I had already told him about a severe pain I have in my shoulder for several days and I could not help him, so I thought it was economical because he would do it alone.
Without hesitation I told him to change the wheel bearing on the driver's side, I had no doubt that that was where the noise came from, I did not even bother to lift the car and mark the engine to make sure that was the one I had to change, because only 6 months ago I had changed the other, and had not even rolled 10 thousand kilometers, for me it was obvious that this is the one that had to be changed.
My friend in only two hours finishes the job and calls me to look for it and test it, I arrive at his workshop, I go for a ride with the car, when I reach 50 km / h the same sound as if I had not changed anything. I get back to my friend and I insist him if by mistake he had changed the one on the "good" wheel, he tells me that he changed the one I asked for, we lift the car, without caring about the pain in my shoulder, for a moment I forgot, I could not believe that the problem persisted.
-Compre el repuesto, llevo el carro a mi amigo el mecánico que me dijo que solo me cobraría 10 $ USD con el fin de ayudarme, porque sabe que estoy medido con el dinero y además ya le había contado sobre un fuerte dolor que tengo en el hombro desde hace varios días y no le podía colaborar, así que me pareció económico porque lo haría el solo.
-Sin dudarlo le dije que cambiara el rodamiento de la rueda del lado del conductor, no tenia dudas que de allí provenía el ruido, ni siquiera me molesté en levantar el carro y poner en marca el motor para asegurarme que ese era el que tenia que cambiar, porque solo apenas 6 meses atrás había cambiado el otro, y no había rodado ni siquiera 10 mil kilómetros, para mi era obvio que ese es el que había que cambiar.
-Mi amigo en solo dos horas termina el trabajo y me llama para que lo busque y lo pruebe, llego a su taller, salgo a dar una vuelta con el carro, al llegar a los 50 km/h el mismo sonido como si no hubiera cambiado nada. Llego de regreso donde mi amigo y le insisto si por equivocación había cambiado el de la rueda “buena”, el me dice que cambio el que le pedí, levantamos el carro, sin importarme el dolor de mi hombro, por un instante se me olvido, no podía creer que el problema persistía.
When I checked the wheel there was no sound, the work had been perfect, at that moment I said: it can't be, it's the other wheel! We lifted the passenger side, we started the car, we accelerated it and there was the sound, and along with it my lamentation accompanied with a severe headache, I spent the little money I had on the wheel that was not, how did I explain it to my wife?
It turns out that the bearing I bought was not a Koyo, it was an imitation, the market is full of them, an original Koyo costs about 40 $ USD, of course, how could I think it would be so cheap! Here fits perfectly another popular saying: 'cheap is expensive', so I was already there, I had to solve, the only option and the one I wanted less was to get into debt, but I had no choice.
-Al chequear la rueda no tenía ningún sonido, el trabajo había quedado perfecto, en ese momento dije: ¡no puede ser, es el de la otra rueda! Levantamos el lado del copiloto, encendemos el carro, lo aceleramos y allí estaba el sonido, y junto con el mi lamentación acompañado con un fuerte dolor de cabeza, gaste el poco dinero que tenia en la rueda que no era ¿Cómo se lo explicaba a mi esposa?
-Resulta que el rodamiento que compre no era ningún Koyo, era una imitación, el mercado esta lleno de ellas, un koyo original cuesta unos 40 $ USD, claro ¡cómo iba a pensar que sería tan económico! Aquí encaja perfectamente otro dicho popular: ‘lo barato sale caro’, así que ya estaba allí, tenia que solucionar, la única opción y la que menos quería era endeudarme, pero no me quedo de otra.
Obviously I bought another brand, nothing expensive, the day will come when I can mount the originals, so I had to walk a lot asking and researching in various spare parts sites I visited and other people I consulted about an economic and good brand that at least gave me more than a year, I ended up buying the one you see in the picture above, my friend finished the job and got home and for a moment I felt like defeated, but after giving me the necessary encouragement, I' m sure that everything will be fine, I hope my experience will serve you to be alert and not make my mistake.
Obviamente compre otra marca, nada caro, llegara el día en que pueda montar los originales, así que me toco caminar y confiar en una investigación rápida que hice entre los sitios de repuestos que visite y otras personas que consulte sobre una marca económica y buena que por lo menos me diera mas de un año, termine comprando la que ven en la foto de arriba, mi amigo termino el trabajo y llegue a casa y por un instante me sentí como derrotado, pero luego de darme el animo necesario, esto seguro que todo estará bien, espero que mi experiencia les sirva para estar alertar y no cometer mi error.

Hola amigo @danielcarrerag estas son cosas que vemos a diario en nuestro país, y nosotros tenemos que reinventarnos para cubrir los requerimientos del día y ni hablar de las imitaciones de los repuestos que si no tenemos el conocimiento debido caemos en el dicho lo barato sale caro, pero bueno gracias a Dios pudiste resolver, espero que te encuentres mejor de salud, fue un gusto leerte.
