Hi all,
As I recently re-launched The Liberty Academy, I want to start referencing some of its contents, more specifically lessons and courses I am adding.
Some of you may have children and I have a section Liberty Academy for Kids which is ideal for those who wish to access rich content for either homeschooling or enhancing the learning of their children.
Most lessons are based on acquiring a broad range of skills and also to foster a much needed sense of personal freedom and liberty in our youths' spirits.
The Kids section has 3 categories: Short Stories, TV Series with a focus on Little House on the Prairie episodes which promote good wholesome values, and the Who is? / Who was? series which helps youngsters explore the history through some of the most fascinating people who have helped shape our world.
Kids - Short Stories
So, here we go with the first short story I have chosen. It is called Birth of the Turtles.
I really could think of no better short story to start with than the Birth of the Turtles. Why? This beautiful, yet simple story encapsulates life itself.
The baby turtles are immediately thrown into the natural world filled with dangers, obstacles, pitfalls, and glorious opportunities.
Their God-given instincts lead and guide them on their journey through life.
Not all of them will even make it to the ocean; and all will eventually die.
Regardless, they will leave marks of their existence in a blink of what we call time. They are the ultimate metaphor for life itself.
The lesson includes post-reading tasks which focuses on key vocabulary and comprehension questions, and ends with two suggested video clips which show actual footage of the magic of the turtles hatching and their mad dash towards the ocean.
Hope you can share this wonderful story with a child in your circle.
