Really interesting post - never ever thought about using pineapples as thorny boundary planting! cool!
It's so true about security - I had invasions here, and so I've put up VERY wobbly trellising panels to make it harder to get over fencing, as well as blackberries and pyracantha. It's sad people feel the need to trespass and be troublesome, but we've gotta do what we've gotta do to protect our property!
That about sums it up! My husband always says "just be less inviting than the next house" whether thorns or dogs or whatever obstacle ...just keep them moving!
