After weeks of being promised rain and getting next to none, it finally started after 9AM on Thursday. Steady heavy rain, enough to not cause immediate flooding, but to give a good soaking.
By late afternoon there were minor puddles in the driveway.
It’s always amazing how green things get when rain comes after a long dry spell. There are buds on the big maple on the right tree line. And there are flowers opening on the quince in the garden. Still no idea where I will put that…
On the minus side, the rain did knock petals off the magnolia.
And with the rain, the grass will really grow. It’s already up high enough that moving this coop out of this pasture is going to be hard. I hope to do it on Friday morning when we have a lot of people here. But they are forecasting 85%+ rain all morning, so we will see. I may have to try to organize a group on the weekend. Short notice may make that hard….
Friday and all weekend I will be washing windows with my window person. I hope to get the entire first floor done, but there are 4 windows I’d need help with on the second floor too, so we will see.
