The Drone Visits on September 6, 2020 @goldenoakfarm

Tom, our chicken wizard, had brought his drone to the chicken processing on Sunday. He got a couple short videos of the farm. Here are the highlights.

Above is the layers pen and the snake fence coming off at the left. You can see the set-up for processing by the canopy. The chickens have all run inside because there’s a noisy something overhead.

This shows the snake fence a bit better. It’s much shorter because we were using some of the netting on the pasture pen.

The spot in center is the brush pile from when our benchmark maple fell into the pasture, a few years back.

These are the neighbors to the east. Our plumber lives in the house on the right at the end of the cultivated land.

On the left this 20 acre piece was recently sold and the new owners are building a mountain in the middle. It’s hard to see from above, but the plumber says when he looks out his kitchen window, he’s looking at the bottom of the foundation. They have hauled in literally hundreds of thousands of dollars of fill for months now.

The foundation is so high, they had to bring in pumps to get the concrete up to the forms. It’s kept the neighborhood entertained for many months now…

So that’s part of the farm in early September.
