Having truble with ideas? Say no more!

in #ideas6 years ago (edited)

Did you ever come across a time when you wanted to do somthing, but just didn't know what!
Well I am here to help with that.

The next few things I am about to say will be relevant for a couple of things, such as drawing, writing, photography etc.

Things I have found useful to overcome the said 'writer's block':

  • Look at your surroundings!
Just look around where you are right now! watch the things close by and try to think about every aspect of what is around you. Mabye there is a book laying beside you, and the cover can spark an idea?
  • Imagination!
Remember when you were a kid and played pretend? Just using your imagination for EVERYTHING? Well I am suggesting you should go back to that time and start thinking about literally EVERYTHING. Your mind is always filled with thoughts - let it be about your job, your significant other and so on: Just work on that thought.
  • Reference
Looking at other people's work is not a bad idea. You can browse work made by others to gain that insperation and think about something you haven't.
Disclaimer: I am not talking about 'copying' other's work. You can copy for practicing and learning to improve your skills, but NOT using them as your own work! Use them to inspire you and make you think.
  • Sports!
Whether you are a sport lover or not, sports can help us think. Go for a jug or a hike, even some push-ups or really any exercise you can think of.

For reference you can use sites such as DeviantArt for art and any source control such as GitHub or GitLab for code.

Something really important is to remember your ideas. We can come up with ideas every single day at any given moment. So do yourself a favor, take a pen and paper or take your phone and write that idea down!

I hope I had been helpful, and do feel free to share your ideas and creations in the comments.
