As I was standing looking at these beautiful statues, I began to think that I know nothing about them. Isn’t that strange? I was appreciating the beautiful work and not the meaning.
Then I considered that in some places, they tear down statues when society dislikes the figures. Could that ever happen here? China did that during their cultural revolution. Many statues of religious figures as well as historical figures were torn down and destroyed.
Next time you see a statue you don’t know. Appreciate it for its beauty.
