What to do with information

in #informationwar4 years ago

I found myself reading an article by @krnel on the disaster of authoritarian control. One user mentioned asked the question, what can one do about it. It's easy to feel powerless when you're own government is against you.

I listen to the Let's Talk Bitcoin network. Nothing I am about to say write is financial advice. (I picked up from the show)

Of course there are gray areas for the both extremes, but the extremes are a Polio like super-virus that makes the shelter in place orders completely necessary, or the other extreme is it's something that isn't more serious than the annual flu. These two extremes let's call them the Polio scenario, and the flu scenario respectively. Now that we have the data, it is more of “the flu scenario”

Generally, you can talk to people who already get it, and work together with them and find solutions. Profit from the misconceptions. If you believe that the real problem is the lock-downs and not the virus, then you can act accordingly. This is the flu scenario.

There are people who use Steem and Hive who think paying $4,000 for servants is a reasonable proposition(1). There are those who are living pay-check to paycheck and everything in between.

If you have job, go to work without fear, take overtime work from your scared co-workers. If you find yourself jobless due to the lockdowns, take the opportunity to try other careers. Some employment opportunities may exist that did not before due to people getting used to government checks rather than working. If you live in western countries the military pays well, and provides many benefits and they are always hiring. The north Asian institutes are always hiring teachers who may not have any background in teaching. reinvent your career, be open to opportunities and other places. There is Keep applying for other jobs. They will vaccinate you in the military AFAIK, so you might go the Asian route.

The reasoning is fiat money is being created at an extremely high rate. This means the prices for everything will go up and that means everything. So, when I say sell dollars, it means cash will lose value, potentially quickly.

For everyone fill up your tanks. Gasoline is flat. People aren't driving around very much these days. Low demand, low prices. This depends more on the lock-downs than the virus. But in Polio scenario, the lock-downs would last longer, and in a Flu scenario they should be shorter but they aren't.

If you buy the storable food you will eat anyway six months from now, today rather than later, and six months from now, the prices of these goods go up say 10%, you will have virtually made 10% in six months. Supply problems will happen due to lock-downs, in the super-plague, supply chains could hurt supply of food. In both cases it is a good buy.

Real-estate gains dollar value over-time, but if the population of the city you live in starts to drop, then some might be unprofitable. In the flu-scenario the population deaths is not significant enough to cause a drop in these prices in this area. In fact, it's old people. This should cause rents to go up.

In a long term economic suppression gold can preserve your wealth but buying it to sell it next month is very risky due to volatility. You see there is better reason to buy gold in the Polio scenario than the flu scenario.

Long term lock-downs will hurt companies. A temporary set-back mean it's a dip, buy the dip and profit when the lock-downs are lifted.

Organize a drive and call it say All Lives Matter, collect the money and use it to lobby for no-more lock-downs. You don't really have to promise that at the beginning.

Great post.

No polio, no extra flu, 100% fake plandemic, but it makes no difference anyway, fake does the job just as well.
