Announcing the Winner of 10 shares of SteemBasicIncome - The InformationWar Contest based on the TV Show, "The Prisoner"

in #informationwar5 years ago (edited)

I announced the contest in this post. We had two entries:
There are worse evils than death - Information War Fiction by @gregorypatrick
You can still go vote on his post!

...and...

"Be Seein Ya"... The Illusion of Displacement in the Prisoner by @richq11

The Quick and Dirty: The winner is @richq11

Rich, you should see your current SBI vote go up in a week to two weeks

This one was hard to decide. Rich ripped matters to the bone and got to the point in a direct and efficient matter, while Greg wrote a fiction piece that captured the essence of the show nicely.

Progress is our enemy. Not because it is inherently bad, but because we race headlong into newer and better technologies before thinking through the ramifications of what we already have. As we succumb to the allure of technology, Technocrats are given more and more power over our lives- individuality is destroyed
@richq11

I was struck by the NPC meme as I read Greg during his buildup to finale.

My thoughts on the show will have to wait for another day; the immensity of what I consider to be a false-flag "bombing" campaign by the democrats in a blatant October surprise has all of my attention at the moment.

I did want to say that what both Rich and Greg capture is the individual root of the problem...

As humans, we need a certain amount of "conformity", or commonly accepted rules to live by, but what we as individuals often CHOOSE is conformity for it's own sake, built by someone else for THEIR purposes, not for the good of the local community

I do hope that neither of you felt filed or stamped during this contest!

I didn't even noticed rich put his entry in so early on lol. It's cool how we were able to approach it from such different angles I'd say.
There's no messing with @rich11 and I see how well his piece came out so it's all good in my book ;).
I definitely found this contest to be rewarding in more ways than one and appreciate the inspiration bud!

What do you know... I finally won something! Speaking of the bombing campaign...

01f.jpg

that 5000 steem bribe really paid off!!!

what, the left's favorite tactic is bombing????hoooooooow surprising!

I just noticed that I wasn't follwing you...I fixed that, but it is strange. I wonder how I fat fingered that to "unfollow". but it does explain why I wasnt seeing your stuff in my feed

Could be! Do you know anything about online wallets (Greymass) I'm having problems registering... Because I'm an idiot and don't know how to answer any of the question!

sorry Rich, been out of it for a while

I don't use online wallets becuase they are subject to someone elses control; I cant help you on this one

Did you check w/ Deva?

No... I got it but I screwed up. I did it as a cold wallet and I was supposed to do it different. Now I have to find out how to switch

if you haven't put any money into it, you might have the chance to delete it and start over?

do they have a help desk?

Not that I can find. The reason I went with the cold wallet is because the other wanted my server and I don't know what that is. I don't have a server.
