There are plenty of different communities here, and quite a variety of topics and interests! Also, there are many different apps you can use to interact with on the Steem blockchain, some of which are listed in the comments. I hope things are going well so far :)

Haha, it can be very overwhelming!
There is much to learn, and various options, luckily the community is helpful here, and I'm confident you will fit right in with the interests you've expressed.
If you are more into apps, eSteem or partiko are nice options (and whatever you post still displays on steemit!).
Some different posting options are commonly used here, as other apps (dapps) offer encouragement votes for producing quality content through use of their software!
The community discords are a nice place to get started ;)
