We are Kevin and Bula, thus, "Kebula", living in Japan, and we are glad to have found this space where we could blog about our memorable travel, hiking, camping, and dining experiences.
We met at a bar in Tokyo where Bula was the drunk bartender who pretended to not remember Kevin the next time he dropped by and she was sober. Lol!
We never really dated, we just went out a couple of times before Kevin moved to China, and Bula stayed in Japan. Once, we decided to meet up and partied in South Korea for 3 days. Months later, after a roller coaster of events, we moved in together back in Tokyo.
We got married 3 times, and Kevin keeps on joking about a fourth one.
Being an interracial couple, it was challenging to arrange just one wedding, Bula having a conservative but messy family, and Kevin having a dysfunctional one, 😆.
Anyway the weddings were fun! One held in Cebu, Philippines; one at a city office in Liechtenstein (as official contract signing), and another one at the church the day after. The best part was Kevin driving a tractor after our church wedding. It was awesome!
Kevin grew up in a valley country in Europe surrounded by mountains. Bula spent most of her childhood near the sea. We love the outdoors; from the shore (even underwater), up to the summits! We started camping years ago and it keeps getting better and better. When the weather is good, we are always out. Doing day hikes at least twice a month has become a regular thing to do; and now that it's gonna be winter soon, it'll be snowboarding every weekend.
Bula loves music and singing karaoke. She even got a fun-band with her friends. Kevin is a metalhead and likes to dance hardstyle. He's got a custom dancing shoes for that. We got a bit older and weaker now (booo!) but we still go out and have fun at times. Not in the clubs, but in Golden Gai , a cool bar area in Shinjuku. Dreading next-day hangovers, we try to be at home at by 1AM, haha.
We love traveling. You see, our families are scattered in Asia and Europe, it is imperative that we visit some of them every summer, and some over the holidays. Wherever we go, Bula always makes sure we do a little side trip to places we have never been to, eat a lot of local cuisine, or do something weird. 😆
SUNDAYS. Sundays are quality time spent at home. Kevin loves cooking, and Bula loves eating - what a perfect combination! Sundays are spent mostly home-cooking, munching popcorns and Netflix. Rarely, we go for brunch.
