Israeli Lockdown challenged in Supreme Court, in massive protests, by Opposition Leader, Mayors, Medical Professionals and Business Leaders

I'm so pleased to see the Israeli people rising up against the idiotic lockdown and counterproductive Corona restrictions.

Political Opposition to Lockdown from all sides

The former health Minister resigned from the government in protest against the lockdown and is calling for protests.

The head of the Knesset (Parliament) Corona Committee Yifat Shasha-Biton (Likud) strongly opposes lockdown and calls it a disaster.

Dr Hagai Levine, an epidemiologist, the head of the Doctors Union and advisor to the Corona Czar says lockdown is "the stupidest and most hazardous solution".

The Opposition Leader (Yair Lapid) says the lockdown is a mistake and a disaster.

Another opposition party leader (Avigdor Lieberman) calls for disregard of coronavirus rules and for the public just to use their common sense.

Massive Public Protests

Every week there have been protests of over 10,000 people against Corona restrictions.

Some weeks numbers rose to over 30,000 as Ultra-Orthodox Jews joined secular Jews in protests against Bibi and his Corona policies) These are strange bedfellows indeed as these represent the opposite ends of Israeli politics and society.

Police are run out of town in Bnei Brak for trying to enforce Corona restrictions.

Medical Opposition

A letter was signed by a large group of distinguished doctors and professors opposed to lockdown.

Business Opposition

"Channel 13 reported that the Manufacturers Association of Israel, the Chamber of Commerce and other business bodies wrote in a letter to the premier that a new lockdown would cause a further wave of unemployment and bring about “an ‘economic coronavirus’ whose effect will be far more destructive than the medical coronavirus,” and warned that the effects of the harm to the economy could be felt for a decade."

The protest is againt Netanyahu mostly. But yes also the restriction.
Against dictatorship.
Though I want to see bibi paying for his alegd crimes, I am pleased with the peace process.

Bibi's autocratic and stupid corona response has united long time Bibi-haters (like you) with long time Likud voters (like me) and with Haredim that always supported Bibi (and now are against him).
