Would you like to know why making a speech in person is a powerful experience because Jerry compares online meetings vs live in his Jerry Banfield Show?

The First Jerry Banfield Show - Online Meetings vs Live!

Making a speech in person is a powerful experience, and in Alcoholics Anonymous, it's very obvious that when I go on that Zoom call, whatever happens there, even if I pay a hundred percent attention, it's not half as powerful as actually sitting in a meeting with other people.

That's the same thing with ToastMasters and that's why I've made the show here to give you something you can come to every week.

Right now, the show is every Saturday and Sunday right here, and then it is starting on June 17th with Natalia. There's a show Wednesday night at the Awakening Wellness Center to give you somewhere every week, multiple times a week, that you can come to when you want to feel better, when you want to learn something, when you want to network with people who are on your frequency.

Does that sound like something that is useful or would be useful for you in your life?

Oh my God, especially now!

I've looked around and I want to be out with people every day.

The other day, for example, I was talking with my beautiful wife and children. I love them so much. They are an absolute gift from God.

I was so depressed, just being at home with them for the first half of the day, and as soon as I got out of the house, I felt better, literally.

As soon as I got out of the house in my car, "Man, life is good."

And they feel the same way. My children go crazy if they don't get out of the house, at least once a day. They will break things, throw things, throw tantrums, hurt themselves. They need to get out and see other people. We had our niece over yesterday, or just to have somebody else come over. We need all these different human connections.

We get bored and depressed being around the same two or three people every day. Even if we really love those people, we are hard-wired for connection, we're hard-wired to be members of large communities with hundreds of people where we see and interact.

It gives us the perspective we need to see, "Oh, here's what Nancy's going through. Here's what Greg and Lana and Lauren…"

When you're with other people in person, you get this, you get out of yourself. Right now, if you want to learn and grow, it's kind of difficult. You got to look up different workshops, and honestly, if you're like me, it's a little scary.

I don't know this person. I don't know this venue. I want to make it easy where you can just show up to this show and every week there'll be somebody else doing something else that's useful for you.

Tomorrow there will be Michelle here.

I've worked with Michelle for over a year as a hypnotherapist. She does guided meditations, and they're so good.

I'm grateful I knew I needed that, but how many of you in here would think to look for a hypnotherapist and do a guided meditation?

I mean, most of us would not. All right, so look, Nicole's a little ahead of the curve on that.

Most of us just don't, we don't know what we don't know, so we don't think to look for it.

The purpose of the show is to make it easier if you're on a personal development.

Who here listens to a lot of inspirational, motivational like audiobooks, courses?

You're trying to lift yourself up all the time. You're trying to be the best you can be. And I see that it's time to make that easily available in person.

I want this to be easy, you know where it's at, and that's the point of the show.

Repeatedly doing these over and over again, lift our whole community up, so that when Michelle does her workshop and all of us, we just keep lifting our whole community and ourselves a little bit, a little bit, a little bit.

I think just doing that, we can make all the change in the world that we want to see, or at least the things we don't like to see, we'll go hide somewhere else, and we won't know about them at a minimum.

I'm grateful for the chance to be a part of that creation today.

What I see is I didn't do this alone. I was praying for guidance.

At the beginning of the year, I was praying for guidance.

I said, "Please, God, show me the way. Show me how I can help people."

One thing that's frustrating doing things online, there's very little good feedback. I've made over 3,000 videos online. How do I know what to make the next video on? How do I know what people really thought of the video?

Greg watched one of my videos the other day that I thought was not a good video. There were twice as many dislikes on it as likes on it, and when I talked to Greg about it, he said that was really good.

I'm like, "Really?"

I was thinking I'm never going to do a video like that again and for Greg, it was really good, and I need that feedback.

Over the last year I have gotten really frustrated with not having that feedback.

I'm like, I want to serve, I want to help, but I don't know what to do and I don't know who to give it to.

And here you all are.
