I am having a crisis now. I have been through this twice before with the gym I teach in.
Previously when my students have had success in tournaments the gym owner and the other Black Belts want to try to get more students and revamp the program with how they think will bring more medals.
Every time before it has failed because they don't embrace the way we train as it is not "commercial" as it is too hard for most people that want to train. Thus everything gets diluted. Then instead of getting more "medals" we end up losing the top competitors to other schools or they get weaker because they do not train as hard.
Maybe it is time to move on.
