I was craving gyoza today but to be honest with you I really don’t find gyoza tempting unless it’s with my dipping sauce! It’s one of the tastiest sauces to make and dip Asian finger foods in! I sometimes even pour it over rice or steamed veggies. It’s that good!
I slice up 5 green onions completely. I always save the ends to root in water and replant in my garden.
Place your green onions in a glass bowl and use a good quality garlic press to mince 4 garlic cloves into your bowl. To this add 2 tbsp hot chili flakes (you can use more if you prefer more heat), 1/2 tsp white sugar, 1 tsp salt, 2 tbsp white vinegar and 3 tbsp soy sauce. Stir and set aside.
In a small saucepan, heat up 1/4 cup oil. I prefer safflower as it has no strong taste or smell. Once hot, pour over your green onion mix. Be careful not to burn yourself as it will be bubbly!
Let sit for a bit until it cools down and serve at room temperature with your favorite finger foods!
After our Asian inspired dinner we had fresh strawberries from our garden for dessert. I noticed some of the seeds on the strawberries were already sprouting so I quickly scraped them off and planted them! I can never say no to more strawberries!
I think I’m going to finish one of my favorite books, Ayn Rand “Atlas Shrugged” before working out tonight. I hope you had a great day!
May your home be filled with warmth, your pantry full and may you always have good health!
