Dangerous Jobs: Delivery Drivers Attacked and Robbed

A Domino's delivery driver was recently killed in an ambush where a pizza delivery was ordered to an abandoned Detroit house. This wasn't the first time that an individual had been assaulted at the house, this seems to have been a trend with having delivery drivers called and then later ambushed.

Drivers who work with other pizza businesses have also been attacked.

One of the most dangerous jobs in the country

You wouldn't often think of a delivery driver when you think of what the most dangerous jobs in the country might be but they do make the list.

These delivery drivers can be targeted for the money that they are believed to have on them and the problem has allegedly gotten worse in recent years. We've seen other attacks on drivers as well who work with other companies whether they be delivery or ride-sharing operations.

This might highlight the need for more robot deliveries in the food industry space, among the need for other solutions in the community to address such a problem surrounding safety.

If communities are not going to be safe enough for delivery drivers to operate then those workers will likely go looking elsewhere and that will leave a void to be filled.

If the void isn't filled then the service might disappear altogether, reducing food options for the community which could hurt many.

For multiple reasons the food industry is already looking at robot deliveries for groceries, pizza, and more.

The attacks on drivers could be one more reason that a business opts to go this route with technology getting the goods to the customer so that they aren't putting their people in danger. How long then though until they might have a robot theft problem on their hands though?

Its a shame. I used to order Chinese food here and had to stop because the guy was afraid to come into the foyer anymore. I didn't want them to see me handing him money and a tip outside, as we had had a pizza guy killed here as well.

Seeing the fear in his eyes (even though they knew me from ordering for years), I just handed him the money at the threshold and stopped ordering from them. Don't want anyone to get hurt over a few bucks.

Its awful. We are giving up public safety for these bogus ass claims of improving things. Half of it doesnt make sense and time will tell. Im sick of it to be honest. Punishment for crappy people in society is the only way. They want to give them a break because...."the system" bullcrap i say.

Anyways, thanks for your support recently, nice to meet ya man.
