When we talk finance and how to improve our financial capacity we usually talk largely about destinations that would change our status. It is either a new market to invest, a proven business or old and trusted investments that 'guarantee' returns such as real estate.
These spaces for the most part require certain things to get started - An appetite for risk, some amount of capital, a fair bit of luck is also required in any of these ventures to eek out the kinds of returns of we may want to see.
One investment though is rarely or less commonly talked about. This is the amount of time we put into bettering ourselves. This requires real intent and hard work. It may not be as cool as the success stories we come across where it seems like people become successful on a whim, but it is perhaps the most fundamental of all traits successful people possess.
Investing in ourselves goes beyond our basic formal education, though I reckon if you're going to get one, you might as well take it seriously. It is rather the amount of effort and time we commit to the groundwork of any vision we assign for ourselves.
You can be a lazy crypto trader, investing on the whims and caprices of others. A lazy trader (as we've seen) may get lucky, but will likely be burned by the markets as a consequence of not taking the effort to understand the structure.
Those who take time out to improve will always have an edge over those who don't. It doesn't always mean instant success sadly, but it opens us up for opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable.
