The Creation

The term "decentralized" has become almost synonymous with Cryptocurrencies. Although Bitcoin was created by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009, it really only became known in 2013. The fact that it was and still is a peer to peer system that did not require a third party like a bank or financial institution was its main selling point.

As most people are aware, Satoshi Nakamoto is a pseudonym and nobody is aware of his true identity, or identities in the event that there is a group of people behind the creation of Bitcoin. There are two very important aspects that are at the centre of human desires and therefor, human behavior. Namely, freedom and the need to be loved/known or respected. Let's have a look at how Nakamoto incorporated these aspects into his creation.

Freedom

By giving people the freedom to transact financially in a secure way from anywhere in the world without a third party, accomplished the aim of attracting people to Bitcoin. Nakamoto knew that this would be an amazing draw card for the citizens of the world today, and he was right.

Freedom to transact at any time, on any day to anywhere in the world without someone giving the go ahead first, sold Bitcoin to the world. Everyone is well aware of this and is nothing new, but what about the second aspect of human behavior and how did Nakamoto turn it on its head?

What If You Created Bitcoin?

I am sure if you created Bitcoin everyone would know about it. It would be all over your YouTube, Twitter and other social media accounts. You would be telling all your friends. Once the media got wind of it, you would be on CNBC, CNN and any other news network that called you up and offered to do an interview with you.

This is where Nakamoto changes the game. Nakamoto knew that connected to the human pattern of love and attention is another, namely personality centrality. For instance many brands today are more the man/woman behind the brand than the brand itself. People centralize on the face of the brand more than the company or product itself. Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and the list goes on. People can also fail and fall out of favor and be shunned. By having no identity connected to Bitcoin, Nakamoto protects his creation in this way.

Any attention must be given to the coin itself and is protected from the actions of those who would be connected to it. The unknown identity goes further to create mystery and ultimately a legacy. Where people do not have conclusive answers they act in a very predictive way, they continue seeking. Through such behavior legends are created. It is clear that with the intelligence of Bitcoin and the Blockchain was another intelligence closely linked to its users.
