All the kids had school today. It was a formality because according to the law, comprehensive schools have 190 days in a school year. Today was a school day so as to make it possible to have a weekday off between a public holiday and a weekend.
After I picked up my daughter from school, we went to the main library to return some of her books.
The library was built in 1990 and I think it won an architectural contest around the time it was built. It's almost 30 years old but it could be new. Timeless materials were used in the interior.

The main entrance
The cafeteria you see the windows of on the left in the image above

The main lobby and stairs to the second floor where the music department is

Backyard
A small courtyard

Newspaper reading room upstairs
The name of the room in the previous two images. "Päijät-Häme" is the Finnish language name of the region.
A listening place in the music deparment.
There is a speaker on the bottom of that shade thing or whatever it could be called.
DVDs and games

The return desk.
This is the sort of thing I gladly pay taxes for.
Absolutely shitty weather outside. Foggy, almost no snow but enough to cause something of a risk of slipping. Completely useless kind of weather.
