Implications of Mythological Characters Still Present in Our Daily Life

In mythological history, thousands of names and characters with different characteristics have a connection with the words that we use all the time today. For example, while the name of the health goddess is 'Hygieia', the word 'Hijyen' we use today is not far apart.

Some mythological characters and the etymological connection of some of the words used today.

hypnos (God of sleeping) - hypnosis

Hypnos is a changed state of consciousness in which all the body relaxes like sleep, but unlike sleep, one does not lose consciousness.

morpheus (dream god) - morphine (I can not pass the morpheus of the matrix without reminding)

Morphine formerly known as morphium, is the name of Morpheus, and I am taking it from the force that caused it to dream.

Pan (the god of the prairie that suddenly comes out against the living creatures) - panic

Pan was also an inspiration to the panic word because he suddenly came out against people in the countryside and scared people with images.

phobetor (nightmare god)- phobia

The Phobetor was seen in the dreams of being the embodied symbol and god of the kami. Today's phobia concept comes from itself.

narcissus (God who love in love himself) - narcissism

adonis (god of manhood and fertility) - adonis muscle

nike (god of victory with the ability to run very fast) - NIKE as brand
