Flamingos in flight

In my last post I went on a wildlife photography shoot in the Atacama Salt Flats working on creative methods. Here are a few more shots from the day.

One of the hardest subjects in wildlife photography are birds because they are small and constantly moving making them an incredibly difficult subject to shoot. To capture birds in flight is most wildlife photographers dream and to achieve it you need to use a very high shutter speed to freeze the action. I was lucky enough to spend the whole afternoon as the sun was setting over the desert around which time the flamingos begin to take flight. That's what I was trying to capture with the first two shots. The third photo in contrast was just a wide angle shot at a longer shutter speed to give more context to the setting.
