I'm not saying it's not important, I'm only pointing out that character definition is something that is subjective. Mr A may have good character to Mr C. But Mr F may think Mr A got a bad character. But I've seen people characterised as those with bad character amount to much. It's almost an African thing to see people hammer on things such as character, in appraising the success of a person. People with bad character do succeed.

You are quite on point. The purview with which individuals look at issue is different, depending on the gathering, drinking or not drinking alcohol for instance might be interpreted as bad character.

Yes, you are right. People with bad character do succeed, however, the kind of character, needs to be well spelt out, since Character is like a word for summation of different things.
