Price of Success

In this series on focus for success, we are really talking about bringing your energies to bear on the one thing that you should be doing at this moment. This should be something you want to do and not something that is forced. The cost of living this type of life is minimal, just focus your energy on the one thing, and at the right time.

Your life must be deliberate and therefore your actions must have meaning and will have consequences. You have a choice, you can choose to put your energies into actions that will deliver a small outcome or a larger outcome. In other words, if you purposely choose a small outcome, you will be intentionally limiting yourself to lesser success. On the other hand, should you choose to go for the gold ring and a bigger outcome, you may have tremendous success.

The key is to make the decision on the type of outcome you want and then plan accordingly. To reach your goals, remember who, what, why, where and when, and you will be off to a great start.

Domino Effect

In Focus for Success 6 - Domino Effect, I discussed a very important aspect of dominos. "The bottom line is that focusing on the one thing can generate small successes which in turn generate larger and larger successes. You are unlocking the power of each success and adding it to the next, sometimes even larger success, to build an empire of success. You start small and build your skills and knowledge as you go. This is a very simple and effective method for living a successful life."

In The One Thing*, Keller uses the domino effect to show how ever-increasing success build upon each other and how easy it is to get started. I feel that this is one of the greatest contributions of this book.
