Broken glasses, broken hearted.

in #life8 years ago

As some of you know I've been having some problems with my contact lenses lately. I've had to wear a pair of glasses for about a week. I purchased them from EyeBuyDirect and I received them for a very good deal.

$89 for high index plastic lenses with all the bells and windows. 1.74 thickness.

Very nice.

When they arrived in the mail I wasn't sure that they would be all that they were cracked up to be. $89 is a very cheap price because I was given the price of $250 at Walmart and something like $240 at our local eyeglass dealer.

I've been wearing them for 6 days now and I really like them. This is the first pair of glasses I've ever had that feels very similar to wearing contacts because they're so comfortable and prescription is so right on target.

+1 to EyeBuyDirect!

I was having lunch with my mother today and she was complimenting them as well. Overall, what a great deal they are and they look amazing as well.

As I was showing her the bridge of the glasses I noticed a small crack. That's strange I thought. I don't remember that crack being there just an hour ago.

When I got home I realized now there are two cracks. Before I had a chance to look for a third the glasses had completely snapped in half.

Well that sucks. I was really enjoying those glasses. It's true that wearing glasses makes everything look a little bit smaller. Contact lenses are probably a more comfortable experience, but as I said, I really liked those glasses.

I contacted EyeBuyDirect and they're going to send me a new pair because these are still under warranty. That's a good thing.

I asked if a new pair was going to break easily and they said their glasses don't break easily as long as you aren't rough with them. I wasn't with these though.

I think I'm going to have to go buy a new pair of glasses from a local eyeglass dealer and just have two pairs. It's pretty frustrating especially considering that for whatever reason my eyes are having a problem wearing contact lenses lately.

I guess it's one thing after another.

Broken glasses, broken hearted.

Let's hope they were defective, and not just a brand of cheap glasses.

These posts make me thank my eyesight!

Well the lenses work at least so I'm probably going to put them into a different pair of glasses. I may eventually get surgery. That would make for a good post.

Poor lenses. Haha

The lenses are okay it's just poor glasses really.

Oh! Don't be broken "hearted". I got my glasses for 2$ in a flea market. Then I went to an optician shop and I told them to make the best lenses. 120$ in total. Best deal ever.

I'm kind of counting every dollar right now. In truth I was going to take the lenses to a local optician and have him make me a new pair of glasses but instead I ordered a really cheap pair that will be here next week. Can I wait a week and just wear these lenses? I think so.

wait, save every cent, be patient ;) I guess you have no much choice.

Sorry you had another problem. Broken glasses are never fun. Glad you had a warranty on them. That's a handy feature of online eyeglass places. Looks like a bad break. I'd had to have to wear those with tape above my nose.

I tried to tape them but it didn't work. I asked them if the new pair would break in the same way since I never actually did anything to break these glasses, they just randomly broke without any apparent reason. They said maybe I should buy some expensive frames. Not this time, Morty. Not this time.

With new glasses, hopefully your eyesight will be better

tired eyes seeing all the circumstances, the scenery for the future. stories that draw a lot of meaning.

I've had trouble wearing contact lenses ever since they started making them with a different material. They make my eyes itchy. So, I bought an average cost pair. Fortunately, my eyesight hasn't changed in years so I haven't had to buy new ones.

It's that stupid silicone hydrogel. Apparently something like 28% of people are allergic to it yet they push it as though it was the only material that anyone should be allowed to wear.

great i see...what a philosophy ..........i like that

Yes thank you.

Good philosophy, broken glasses and broken hearts. But that's all there is cause, so there is a crack. Likes the glasses of a natural thing, because it is united with the wearer.

I guess so.

With new glasses, hopefully your eyesight will be better, a view for the future. a story that attracts a lot of meaning, thanks for sharing @jeezzle
