I won't lie or pretend!! This whole Stive Drama had me asking a lot of questions of my understanding coming in and then learning on this 2+ year journey. I invested time and emotions. Sigh!! Had to take a step back, space to allow the pieces to find its groove.
Guess I came in thinking it would be different from the real world. A little bit of Naivette with Layers of Ignorance keeps Lil ol me happy and sane 😂🤣😂. I like to practice On a Need To Know Basis!!
But the bottom line is, it is like the real world. Things can change; the ones with power make the call. The power can be one entity with a lot of power, or a few with enough cumulative power, or the masses whose numbers and perseverance will get them the results.
Blockchain or not, when you dive deep, nothing lasts forever. If tomorrow, servers go kaput, or powers that be go amok - all that is will be kapish!!
So back to basics!! Why am I here again? Right?! An outlet for where I can let my experiments creativity & thoughts flow... So, will keep it at that and not get too tangled!! There are connections here that I'd like to keep. So...
And please!! If I am wrong... correct me... I welcome it 😉
I am with you. This Stive (I like that) thing is getting a little tiresome. And yes, there's been a steep learning curve. I confess that I don't like some of the changes - but I have to adapt.
Also, last year when HF22/3 happened, I took a decision to focus on my "old" and primary blog on WordPress. I am glad I did. I had neglected it and lost some of my readers. Having gone back to it, and using @steempress, I'm reading a wider and equally varied readership.
Yes, there are benefits to being on the blockchain, but I am not interested in blockchain technology, per se. I am interested in what it offers me - like anything else in which I invest my time and energy and which I use. I want it to offer me a return and I want it to function efficiently.
It bothers me that the people who really control the blockchains and the investors lose money but equally, it bothers me that there are little fish that end up being the collateral damage.

I am waaaaaay past due, and May 27 is the last day no matter what...

Yeah I'm with you there. We'll just carry on posting and having the fun that we can here. I honestly don't believe there's anything to worry about with servers going kaput, it wouldn't make sense for the folks at the top to go through all this battling and then the next day be like "actually, we're switching off now, bye".
The idea that they believe in with Hive is deeply embedded and so long as Steem is around, Hive will be too. Let's hope the dust settles soon and both blockchains can move forward with their respective projects.
