@poet has some real practical points. what seems valuable to you might mean nothing to others. sometimes your least expected posts get the highest votes (and vice versa, which can be painful).
building an audience takes time. that i'm certain. you shouldn't be expecting too much when you started 40 days ago. i only have 2 months of experience myself so i always try to keep my expectations low.
all i can say is be yourself and keep posting (but not spam). watch others who are doing well and try to figure out what makes them successful. often times i realize it's the subtle differences but they're hard to achieve. i know you're observant, so over time, experience should pay out for you. don't be too focused on the daily votes. have patience. try to enjoy the learning process.
