Two days before, I left my house to go to a mall and for attending to some other chores. We live in a village and it is a long trip to the city. So, going to the city is kind of rare and nowadays Amazon makes sure we get things on time. Life is easier but traveling is more fun, to be honest.
Let me show you some pictures I took when I went to the mall and another shop that had a huge discount. They have copied the black Friday theme, for sure.

The first two images are from Lulu Mall, Kochi. The next two are from Bhagavathy textiles, Kochi.
Lulu mall is a kind of high end one that has shops for customer who loves branded stuff. Although, it has a hypermarket that has stuff for all. Most people who visit the mall visit the hypermarket to buy groceries and vegetables and household stuff.
When we visited the mall, we were surprised to see Christmas paraphernalia and all sorts of stuff for sale. The Christmas celebrations have begun here.
Last year and the year before last, it was all a tale of gloom. There were no celebrations and people never went outside or enjoyed an outing. So, this year, the celebrations have already begun. It is not just Christmas. I remember people of other religions too celebrating festivals like Onam in Kerala.
The second set of pictures is of a shop that sells clothes very cheap. There is no lack of quality. It's just that people of all classes can buy clothes for cheap at a wholesale rate. There won't be any fancy staff to usher you around or anyone to serve you drinks. You will have to sometimes push and shove but usually it is a very decent place to shop. There was a discount sale for toddlers and so we saw a lot of young mothers and couples who had come to shop.
Yea, you read right. There was a discount sale for toddlers. Isn't that cute? There is no end to selections and you get what you want in a wide variety of colors and materials that leave you confused.
The only problem we faced was a lack of time. We had to get back before evening to the farm and the traffic was a spoilsport. I guess we should have gotten out earlier to complete all the purchases. We have guests next week and I hope to clean the house before they come. Covid was one of the reasons people stayed away. Now, more and more people are getting out of the comfort of their houses and traveling. I hope that one day, I too can take a vacation and visit the beach.
The city is good if you are a shopaholic but remaining connected with nature is far better.
