VITAMIN E

in #life8 years ago

ANTI-STERILE (in the sense that it does not allow STERILIZATION, that is, the inability to reproduce the progeny), fat soluble VITAMIN E (tocopherol) protects females from resorption of the developing embryo, and males from impairment of spermatogenesis and degeneration of the testes. Tocopherol was opened in 1922, the fifth in the account, and therefore received the ordinal in the Latin alphabet, the name "E". And the name "tocopherol" is due to Greek roots, which emphasize its role in childbearing. One of the most powerful antioxidants, helping to neutralize free radicals, vitamin E in chemical composition is a high-molecular alcohol (C29H50O2). For today eight kinds of tocopherol are known,
but "true" is considered to be d-alpha-tocopherol, accepted as the reference, with which the activity of other forms is compared. Vitamin E is rich in vegetable oils, especially pumpkin seed oil, as well as almonds and peanuts. Tocopherol protects the cell membrane from destruction by free radicals. In immune cells - strengthens and protects the membranes surrounding the lysosomes.
USEFUL INFORMATION: Lysosomes are small containers containing powerful chemicals in the form of free radicals - natural oxidants, which, if necessary, "pour out" on viruses, bacteria and other pathogens when they enter the bloodstream. Thus, lysosomes contain one of the factors of immune defense - a kind of "chemical weapon" against serious enemies, which it is difficult to overcome "one on one", especially if the enemies - more. The task of tocopherol includes cupping, localization (spatial limitation) of free radicals, to use their destructive abilities for the benefit of our body.
This, recently discovered, important property of tocopherol (not just destroy, like other antioxidants, namely, collect to use for peaceful purposes free radicals) made it necessary to take a closer look at the maintenance of the necessary vitamin E in the body.
Vitamin E is resistant to temperature and acids, but relatively sensitive to lighting and alkalis. Possessing oxidizing properties, it largely protects against destruction of vitamin A. It is very important for maintaining optimal skin condition. Controls the viscosity of blood in insulin-dependent patients: with additional intake of d-alpha-tocopherol succinate, the need for insulin decreases, but such therapy must be controlled by a reasonable endocrinologist. Vitamin E is indispensable for anemia. Closely interacts with selenium: a directly proportional dependence - an increase in the consumption of tocopherol requires an adequate increase in selenium consumption. Also, the symptoms of vitamin E deficiency begin to develop.
and with a deficiency of zinc. Bivalent iron is not oxidized, and trivalent iron is oxidized in the intestine and is translated into an inactive form. When vitamin E deficiency occurs nerve and muscle disorders, difficulty walking, weakening the musculature of the eyes, reducing the functions of the reproductive sphere, reducing the lifetime of red blood cells.
The daily requirement for adults is 200-400 IU, children - 50-100 ME. A severe overdose can cause an increase in blood pressure, diarrhea, nausea.
